| Alex Katz is one of the most influential contemporary painters in The United States.His works mainly focus on familiar landscapes,flowers,plants and people.In addition to painting,he also explores printmaking,sculpture and other fields.Katz’s works are bold and pure in color and simple in shape.He likes to draw clues from contemporary daily visual works such as movies and advertisements,and depicts and displays a peaceful and tranquil real world with a "mirror sense" perspective and flat painting techniques.His works have distinct personal style and characteristics of The Times.In nearly 60 years of artistic creation,he has held many solo exhibitions,and his persistent pursuit of art and painting style have inspired and influenced contemporary artists.This paper aims to further analytical Alex Katz unique painting language,summarized its form and style characteristics,makes every effort to Alex Katz painting art has a more comprehensive understanding of the artistic creation so as to enlighten people,eventually apply this style combined with the authors life experience to " All Things Beautiful " series oil painting creation.This paper is divided into three chapters,the first chapter introduction introduces the background,purpose and significance of this paper,as well as the current research status and research methods at home and abroad.The second chapter analyzes the language style of Alex Katz’s painting.Firstly,it explores the reasons for the formation of Katz’s painting style,and then analyzes and summarizes the language characteristics of Katz’s painting from four aspects of composition,color,brushwork and modeling.Finally,it classifies and explains his painting themes.The third chapter,as the focus of the article,explains the motivation and concept of my creation of "All Things Beautiful" series of oil paintings and how to combine personal life experience and the characteristics of The Times to create art under the influence of Katz’s painting style.At the end of the paper,I reviewed the harvest and reflection in the process of personal creation,especially the influence of Katz on my painting techniques and emotional expression. |
