| With the rapid development of science and technology, driven by the trend of economic integration worldwide,China’s contracting of foreign projects has made considerable progress.China is committed to research and development in the field of renewable energy, and actively promotes solar energy technology to carry out international cooperation in the world, especially in developing countries. The report selects the Technical Scheme of 5 MW Solar Project in A Province as the source text for translation, the main content includes the overall scheme of PV system, power generation estimation, design of diesel power generation, energy storage system, electrical system, etc. In the report, the Adaptation Theory proposed by Bclgian linguist Verschucren(1999)is adopted to analyze the English translation of energy sci-tech texts through examples, combined with Trados. In the report, the author firstly introduces the translation background, significance, and requirements of translation. The entire translation process and how to effectively combine manual translation with computer-aided translation are also studied. Then the Adaptation Theory is introduced from two aspects and its applicability to the translation of energy sci-tech texts is discussed. In the process of case studies, the author analyzes the adaptability of structural objects from lexical, syntactic, and textual perspectives. In terms of linguistic context and communicative context, how to make better choices to achieve dynamics of adaptability under different contextual correlates is analyzed. The author believes that the Adaptation Theory can be effectively applied to the English translation of energy sci-tech texts.Within the theoretical framework of the Adaptation Theory, with language choice as a means and language adaptation as the goal,it makes full use of the achievements of contemporary linguistics to explore the inherent laws of scientific translation. From the aspects of structural objects, contextual correlates, the initiative of adaptability, and the salience of adaptability, the report discusses how the flexibility of adaptation is subordinate to the objectivity of the sci-tech text and how to achieve dynamics of adaptability between the source text and the target text while getting rid of the shackles of sentence structure. |
