A Study On The Stylistic Features Of The Overseas Remittance Letter In The Late Qing Dynasty And The Early Republic Of China

In order to explore the characteristics of the style of Overseas remittance letter at the end of the Qing dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China,the present study examines the functional properties,lexical features,syntactic features and textual features of the genre through a combination of qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis.The first chapter is the introduction,which is mainly used to clarify the research object,review the existing research results,and clarify the research methods.The second chapter mainly analyzes the functional attribute and style of the Overseas remittance letter in the late Qing dynasty and the early Republic of China,proves that the style of Overseas remittance letter is a kind of business letter style,which not only conforms to the characteristics of the style of letter writing,but also has the characteristics of business.And the style of Overseas remittance letter is summarized as conciseness,simplicity and courtesy.Chapter three mainly discusses the lexical features of the style of Overseas remittance letter at the end of Qing dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China.Chapter four mainly discusses the syntactic features of the style of Overseas remittance letter at the end of Qing dynasty and the beginning of Republic of China.Chapter five mainly analyzes the textual features of the style of Overseas remittance letter in the late Qing dynasty and the early Republic of China from the perspective of the whole and part,and discusses its textual format,which is characterized by rich logical markers and strong intertextuality.Chapter six mainly discusses the causes of the formation of the stylistic features of Overseas remittance letter,and discusses the influence of the blending of styles,Chinese traditional culture and the personal identity of overseas Chinese on the formation of the specific stylistic features.The seventh chapter is the conclusion of the study.
