| With the rapid development of urban modernization and the spread of modern consumerism,in the process of urban renewal, historic districts are a part of the city.people use culture as a means of pursuing economic interests, ignoring the protection of historic districts, resulting in authenticity fades away. The topic of authenticity has always been a hot topic in tourism academic research. At present, the research results of tourism authenticity mainly focus on the discussion of concepts. The concept of tourism authenticity is variable, subjective and temporal.Based on the characteristics of the concept of tourism authenticity,Scholars generally believe that it is more meaningful and valuable to study the process of tourism authenticity authentication. However, there are not many research results on the process of tourism authenticity authentication. In the limited research results, the research perspective mainly focuses on a single subject. In the process of tourism authenticity authentication, the interaction between various stakeholders will also affect tourism authenticity authentication. Therefore, this study takes the perspective of different stakeholders as the entry point, based on the theoretical concept of defining the "cool" authentication and "hot" authentication proposed by Cohen and Cohen in 2012,and takes Tianzifang in Shanghai as the case study, using the qualitative analysis method of content analysis and discourse analysis to explore the process of defining the "cool" authentication and "hot" authentication of Tianzifang tourism and the power game between different stakeholders. This study is divided into three parts. The first part is the first two chapters of the paper. The first chapter is the introduction of this study, which discusses the research background, the review of domestic and international studies, and the significance of the study. The second chapter is the research design part of this study, which clarifies the research objectives, the selection of case sites, the research method, the technical route, data collection and processing. The second part is the third chapter of the article, which discusses the data analysis process and findings of this study.Chapter 3 analyzes the formation of tourism authenticity effectiveness in historic districts, and conducts an empirical study based on the theoretical concepts of "cool" and "hot" authentication of tourism authenticity proposed by Cohen and Cohen, respectively. The third part is the fourth chapter of the article, which summarizes the findings, recommendations, gaps and perspectives of this study.Through qualitative analysis, the study concludes that(1)both "cool" and "hot" authentication subjects pay attention to the historical and creative cultural environments in the process of defining the authenticity of tourism objects,as well as their respective objective authenticity and constructive authenticity. In addition, the process of "hot" authentication also includes existential authenticity;(2)the authenticity of Tianzifang is the result of a power game among multiple stakeholders, including the district government, the development team, experts, artists, indigenous people, tour operators and tourists. In this process, the indigenous people actively participated in the renewal of Tianzifang and achieved community empowerment through government support, interaction with tourists, renting houses, and setting up committees;(3)the research framework of the process of defining the authenticity validity of tourism in the historic district constructed in this study has guiding significance for the subsequent correlation. The findings clarify the process of tourism authenticity authentication in Tianzifang from different stakeholders’ perspectives and the power game in it,which can effectively help the managers of the historic district to adopt strategies to reduce the commercialization of the historic district and then strengthen the tourism authenticity of the historic district,so as to provide theoretical basis and practical evidence for the high-quality and sustainable development of the historic district. |
