| Looking at the development of Chinese art history,the imaginative language of contemporary Chinese oil painting has been influenced by the traditional ’unity of heaven and man’ view of the universe,and has created a form of expression in the contemporary cultural context that is different from Western oil painting and has a Chinese flavour.The imagery of Chinese oil painting fully demonstrates the spirit of Chinese culture,national aesthetic psychology and regional characteristics,thus promoting the development of localisation and nationalisation of oil painting.This paper focuses on the study of the formal language of imagery in Chinese oil painting,exploring the language of line,colour,material and other painting languages,and thus developing a diversified direction of oil painting.The first part of the thesis is the origin of the topic,which provides ideas and methods for the framework structure of the author’s thesis by analysing the writings and journals on the imaginative formal language of Chinese oil painting.The second part outlines the concept and philosophy of imagery and explains the importance of the development of imagery in Chinese oil painting to the integration of Chinese and Western art and the development of Chinese national art.The third section analyses the language of line,colour and material techniques of imaginative oil painting through the analysis of representative Chinese artists.The fourth section focuses on the graduation project "Lingnan Culture" series,which is based on the author’s existing aesthetic foundation and the feeling of life in Lingnan,using Lingnan architecture and the non-heritage lion culture as the subject matter,and using the formal composition and material language analysed in this paper to complete this project. |
