Research On The Archives Takeover Of The Old Regime In Shanghai (1949-1959

Archives are witnesses and records of history,and old regime archives are important reference for understanding various aspects of politics,economy,culture,and so on before the founding of the People’s Republic of China.On the eve of the liberation of Shanghai,a large number of old regime archives were preserved.On May 27,1949,after the liberation of Shanghai,Chen Yi led the Shanghai Military Control Committee to receive the old regime archives.Subsequently,from 1949 to1959,the collection and organization of these archives were carried out in an orderly manner,ensuring the proper preservation and effective utilization of the old regime archives.This article is based on the work records of the old regime archives stored in the Shanghai Municipal Archives.By sorting out the preliminary preparation work,takeover work,organization work,temporary utilization work,and transfer work of the old regime archives during this period,it presents the achievements of the old regime archives takeover work,analyzes the characteristics of the old regime archives takeover work during this period,and explores its impact and significance on the time and future generations.This study is mainly divided into the following four parts:The first part is the reception of the archives of the old regime in Shanghai.This section mainly describes the preparation for the reception of the archives of the old regime in Shanghai and the units of the old regime in Shanghai,introduces the organization of the Shanghai Military Control Commission and the importance it attached to the archives of the old regime before the liberation of Shanghai,presents the results of the reception of the archives of the old regime in this stage,and analyzes the shortcomings in the work content.The second part is the collation of the archives of the old regime in Shanghai.This section mainly elaborates the methods of taking over the archives of the old regime in Shanghai.This article introduces the combination of the Soviet model and the actual situation in the work of archives of the old regime,forming a working model of archives arrangement of the old regime with the characteristics of Shanghai.The arrangement has gradually standardized,and the professional quality of the archive staff has gradually improved,presenting the achievements of the arrangement work during this period.The third part is the temporary utilization and transfer of the archives of the old regime in Shanghai.Combined with the background of the era at that time,Shanghai carried out temporary utilization work on the archives of the old regime,making the archives of the old regime play their own value in many aspects such as social economy,culture,scientific research,etc.at that time,and explaining the transfer process of the archives of the old regime in Shanghai.The fourth part is a review of the archival takeover of the old regime in Shanghai.This section mainly analyzes the characteristics of the takeover work of the old regime archives in Shanghai based on the work of sorting out the old regime archives during the past decade,compares the takeover work of the old regime archives in other regions during the same period,and explores the significance of the work content for the time and its value for future generations.
