The Southern Archives belongs to the archives of the Ming and Qing Dynasties,written between the 13 th year of Shunzhi(1656)and the 256 years of the third year of Xuandong(1911)in the Qing Dynasty.It is rich in contents,covering politics,economy,military affairs,diplomacy,judicature,religion,culture,education and other aspects.The Southern Archives is divided into eight rooms: official room,household room,courtesy room,soldier room,torture room,workshop,salt room and Cheng-dispatching room.Among them,there are a lot of colloquial words in the salt room archives,which have strong characteristics of salt industry.A considerable number of colloquial words have not been explained,nor have they been concerned or mentioned by large and medium-sized dictionaries and modern Chinese works,which are of great research value.This paper examines and interprets the colloquial words in the salt room of the Southern Archives,understands the development context of colloquial words,and provides materials for the compilation and revision of the Dictionary of Modern Chinese and the Dictionary of Chinese.First of all,the introduction introduces the research overview of the Southern Archives,and discusses the research value of the salt room archives of the southern county government of the Qing Dynasty.Secondly,it explains the research status of the Southern Archives of colloquial sayings.There is only one master’s thesis on the research of the Southern Archives of colloquial sayings.There is no master’s thesis on the research of the salt room archives of the southern county government of the Qing Dynasty,so there is a research gap.Next,it introduces the research purpose,research object and research method,and points out the important and difficult points,innovation points and the source of corpus in the process of writing the paper,which is of great research value.In a word,this paper aims to analyze the colloquial words in the salt room archives of the southern county government of the Qing Dynasty,and provide some references for the study of colloquial words.The first chapter is the description and analysis of the common words in the salt room archives of the southern county government of the Qing Dynasty,from the two perspectives of synchronic and diachronic analysis.The synchronic description of colloquial words is divided into salt-related words and non-salt-related words.The diachronic analysis of the colloquial words can be divided into the colloquial words inherited from the previous generation and the new colloquial words produced in the Qing Dynasty.The second chapter is the meaning analysis of the common sayings of the salt room archives of the southern county government of the Qing Dynasty.The common sayings of the salt room archives of the southern county government of the Qing Dynasty are literally ordinary and the meanings of appellation colloquial sayings are different,which are divided into four aspects: appellation colloquial words,action and behavior colloquial words,famous colloquial words,and other colloquial words.For example,the colloquial words of the appellation can be further divided into kinship appellations,social appellations,professional appellations,and other colloquial words.The third chapter is the interpretation and record of the salt room archives of the southern county government of the Qing Dynasty.We selected thirty-two colloquial words from the archives of salt Room,such as "ba yan","kou an" and "jiao suo",and analyzed them in phonetic order.We excavate the meaning of these colloquial words by combining the form,context and pronunciation,and strive to reflect the face of the colloquial words in a more comprehensive way.Another four colloquial words,such as "lun" and "zuo jing",cannot accurately interpret their meaning due to the reasons of few use cases,so they are listed in the record for quality.The fourth chapter is the lexicographical value of the salt Room sayings in the southern county government of the Qing Dynasty.This paper examines and interprets thirty-two colloquial words,combines the actual situation of these colloquial words,adds the uncollected entries,meanings and documentary evidence,sorts out and summarizes the documentary evidence that can be advanced,and improves the "Chinese Dictionary" and "Modern Chinese Dictionary".
