Investigation And Research On The Urban Linguistic Landscape Of Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefectur

This paper takes the urban language landscape of Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture as the research object,combines the relevant knowledge of sociolinguistics,and uses literature method,field survey method,comparative analysis method and other research methods to investigate and study the urban language landscape of Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture.This paper is divided into five parts:The first part of the introduction introduces the research significance,research status and research methods.The second part is a survey of the urban language landscape of Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture,including the basic information of the survey and the analysis of the survey results.Based on Scollon&Scollon’s(2003)theory of place semiotics,the survey results were analyzed from four aspects: code,content,engraving and placement.The third part summarizes the characteristics of Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture’s urban language landscape,namely the Han Dynasty two languages,strong Korean cultural characteristics,border city propaganda characteristics,official and private language landscape differences.In addition,this part also discusses the information function,symbolic function and service function of Yanbian Korean autonomous city language landscape.The fourth part analyzes the problems existing in Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture’s urban language landscape,that is,the non-standard use of Chinese or Korean,the non-standard use of English or Russian,the damaged language landscape,the decolorization,the incomplete font,the insufficient degree of internationalization of the language landscape.According to the survey,this is mainly due to the low language literacy of language landscape makers,the weak awareness of standardization of language landscape,the inadequate supervision of language landscape regulators,and the unclear production standards of language landscape.The fifth part is the improvement strategy of urban language landscape in Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture.To improve the urban language landscape of Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture,it is suggested to start from six aspects:enhancing the language literacy of the public,raising the awareness of language landscape norms,improving the translation level of language landscape,clarifying the management standards of language landscape,perfecting the management mechanism of language landscape,and strengthening the internationalization construction of language landscape.
