A Study On Ruo Yuan Ri Zha Of Cheng Guan

Cheng Guan(1763-1841)was a scholar in the Qing Dynasty who had a strong interest in antiquity and was influenced by the academic style of Qian Jia.He devoted himself to the study of classics and history and was particularly skilled in textual criticism and research.His works include "Ruo Yuan Ri Zha","Xu Zha","Yu Zha","Lun Yu Shuo","Ruo Yuan Yi Shuo","Ruo Yuan Yi Shuo Xu Bian",and "Zouping Qi Jiu Ji".He was also invited by Wang Zengfang,the governor of Jinan,and Li Qionglin,the county magistrate of Zouping,to compile local gazetteers,resulting in two publications: "Jinan Fuzhi Chu Gao" and "Xu Xiu Zouping Xian Zhi".In addition,Cheng compiled "Jia Shi Yi Shi Ji" and "Cheng Shi Cong Shu".He failed the imperial examination nine times and subsequently gave up on pursuing an official career to focus on the study of ancient texts.He devoted his entire life to reading,studying,teaching,and compiling gazetteers."Ruo Yuan Ri Zha",is a scholarly notes,has spent Cheng Guan more than 40 years of academic crystallization.The book has eight volumes,the content is quite rich,across the classics,history,sub-three categories,including classics,history,geography,artifacts,collation,textual research,exegetical,text,phonology,traditional Chinese medicine,arithmetic,unearthed documents and so on many aspects,great value.But at present academia for Cheng Guan and the research of "Ruo Yuan Ri Zha" is very lack,few people or of such research,so this article will study of into Cheng Guan man first,then introduce "Ruo Yuan Ri Zha" in book form and content,and the detailed study of the content,will focus on the most popular,collating two aspects.Through this research,in order to cause academia on into the "Ruo Yuan Ri Zha" and Cheng Guan widely attention,provide a reference for today’s research value.The main content of the thesis includes four chapters.First chapter into Cheng Guan and "Ruo Yuan Ri Zha",first introduced into family,life and social situation of Cheng Guan,secondly introduces the version of "Ruo Yuan Ri Zha",and writing purpose,etc.,in order to let Cheng Guan and the "Ruo Yuan Ri Zha" have a comprehensive understanding.The second chapter,the style and content of the "Zha Yuan Ri Zha" are determined to be a dialectical note based on textual research,and the explanations,proofreading,geography,medicine,artifacts,and other contents contained in it are introduced to reflect the breadth of Cheng Guan’s knowledge.The third and fourth chapter a detailed study from two aspects of exegesis,textual criticism,to peep into knowledge deep and academic value of the precious Cheng Guan: the first chapter pays attention to the abundant exegetical content in the book,because of the voice of exegetical methods,for example and analysis;Collating chapter,the research into Cheng Guan textualism achievements,including collating content,analyze the error reasons of two parts.
