The Description And Research Of Ancient Books Preserved In Hubei Minority Areas

Ancient books generally refer to the books preserved in ancient times,and sometimes they are collectively referred to as documents.As the material carrier of Chinese nation history and culture,the study of ancient books is of great significance to promote our culture soft power.As a place for multi-ethnic communication and integration,Hubei ethnic areas have long lived more than 20 ethnic groups,such as Tujia,Miao,Dong and Han.It is a cultural deposition belt shared by many ethnic groups.As it has long played a role as a bridge between southwest and central China,Han and ethnic minorities,the study of ancient books in this region can fully reflect the dialectical relationship that all ethnic groups jointly write history,jointly create culture,jointly cultivate spirit,and jointly expand territory,which has positive significance for casting the community consciousness of the Chinese nation and promoting the construction of pluralistic and integrated pattern.The ancient books in Hubei ethnic areas studied in this paper include the eight counties and cities under Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture: Enshi City,Lichuan City,Laifeng County,Xianfeng County,Hefeng County,Badong County,Xuan ’en County,Jianshi County,as well as Changyang Tujia Autonomous County and Wufeng Tujia Autonomous County under Yichang City.Based on the survey data of ancient books stored in the above-mentioned counties and cities,supplemented by existing research data on ancient books,the information of more than 1,000 ancient books has been collected,and 14 different types of ancient books have been sorted out according to their characteristics by using the classification standard of the Chinese Library Method.Most of these ancient books are not separated from the content range of Chinese traditional ancient books,and the classical works of "literature,history and philosophy",such as history and geography,philosophy and religion,language and literature,account for the largest proportion.However,with the development of The Times,the number of ancient books stored in this region has increased rapidly,and the contents of ancient books have become increasingly rich.In addition to a number of ancient books with both Han culture and minority culture,some Western learning works with modern education and natural science as the main content have been introduced.Through the analysis of the data of ancient books,the author finds that the ethnic areas in Hubei have been affected by the migration,trade and culture of different regions for a long time,which has not only brought a large number of ancient foreign books,but also shaped the local unique cultural types.This combination of multi-ethnic and multi-regional cultural types ultimately affected the development of ancient books in this region,making the ancient books in this region both "foreign" and "national" characteristics.That is to say,the ancient books in Hubei ethnic areas are mainly foreign,which is mainly manifested in that the time,place and content of the ancient books are greatly influenced by the external regions,and present different characteristics at different times.Secondly,there are a large number of folk genealogies,outstanding ethnic literature and abundant chiefti historical materials in the local ancient books,which greatly reflect the ethnic characteristics of Hubei ethnic areas.However,compared with foreign ancient books,local ancient books have a certain "lag",which is mainly manifested in the lag of printing time and technology,and the lag of the development of the content and style of ancient books.This lag is ultimately caused by the unbalanced development of politics,economy,culture and other aspects in Hubei ethnic areas in the history.
