Zhang Wei has an unshakable position in the history of Chinese literature in the new era,and through his literary works,he has constructed a unique artistic world, showing people his creative talent. The theme of urban and rural is permeated in modern and contemporary Chinese literature, and is the enduring theme of Chinese literary narrative, and it is also the theme of Zhang Wei’s continuous writing.Taking the method of close reading of the text, this paper takes the implicit urban-rural relationship in Zhang Wei’s novel as the starting point, goes deep into Zhang Wei’s decades of novel creation, discusses the urban-rural narrative at different stages of his novel, selects the writing resources of Zhang Wei’s urban and rural writing, the utopian imagination in urban and rural narrative, the emotional wandering between urban and rural civilizations, and the loss and unwillingness of the deep urban-rural dilemma, and then comprehensively and rationally grasps the reflective value of modernity reflected in the urban-rural relationship in Zhang Wei’s works with a retrospective attitude.Chapter 1: The paper deeply excavates the writing resources of Zhang Wei’s urban and rural writing from various perspectives, such as social care in the period of continuous transformation, spiritual and cultural positions in different era contexts, and the author’s personal growth experience, and observes Zhang Wei’s urban and rural world in the social background and personal life experience of the times,so as to explore Zhang Wei’s emotions and positions on urban and rural civilization.Chapter 2: The paper explores the relatively harmonious urban-rural relationship in Zhang Wei’s novels in the early years. In the 1970 s,Zhang Wei actively responded to the times, writing about the poetic and quiet countryside of Luqinghe, the natural and harmonious rural ecology, and the simple and beautiful human nature; The repressive urban writing is hidden behind the vernacular narrative as the "other",and there is a relationship between enlightenment and being enlightened, yearning for or being soothed.Chapter 3: In the 80 s of the 20 th century,Zhang Wei’s literary narrative was no longer just a simple praise and praise, but as an elite intellectual,he coldly gained insight and reflection on the ignorance and feudal status quo of the countryside, and wrote about the traditional local civilization with an elegy color. The author pinned on the expectation that advanced science and technology and industrial civilization would promote social progress, but he was shocked by the shadow of urban civilization behind the countryside, and chose to retreat to the edge of criticism and the poetic pursuit of integrating into the wilderness.Chapter 4: From the nineties of the last century to the new century,China entered the market economy, and the spirit of material desire swept away with the tide of commodity economy, causing the survival dilemma of cities.Zhang Wei criticized and fled the city, taking the poetic countryside as the ultimate destination of spiritual salvation, but found that the inherent "toxins" of the countryside were rampant, and the city kept squeezing the rural ecology, and finally the idyllic dream supported by the ideal was shattered, making Zhang Wei in the subjective anxiety of the double loss of urban and rural civilization, and then continued to pursue the spiritual plateau in the boundless wandering.Chapter 5: Zhang Wei’s creations range from "Luqing River" to "Wild Land" to "Plateau",the urban and rural matrix is manifested on the surface as the displacement of the point of view, but the inner is the reflection of modernity in the spiritual field of the writer, and the emotional intertwining of intertwined: not only the loss and struggle pain of life in the face of the dilemma of urban survival, but also the collapse and sorrow between the frustration or even loss of local culture. In the concrete unfolding of history and reality, city and countryside, the author’s reflection on modernity is reflected, there is awe of nature and the return of local civilization’s attempt, and there is a rational confrontation with spiritual watch and desire. Conclusion: From the soaring jump of Zhang Wei’s words,we glimpse the literary world of his spirit. On the basis of deciphering the meaning of Zhang Wei’s urban and rural propositions, carefully studying the authentic countryside and nature he has returned, and his inquiry to retreat to tradition and abandon modern civilization,he then thinks about the ultimate direction of human beings.
