| In recent years, the emergence of radical left-wing scholars in contemporary Western societies has been considered one of the most significant theoretical events in the Marxist academic world. They have experienced the rapid development of capitalism and faced new challenges in various aspects of society, politics, economy, and culture. They openly call for communism and have reconstructed the communist program in their critique of existing capitalism from a novel methodological perspective. They have injected new vitality into the discussion of communism with different perspectives and arguments, but some of their erroneous interpretations have also resulted in fundamental flaws in this "new communism" theory. Therefore, this article will focus on the discussion of Marxist scientific communism in relation to the communist theory of Western radical left-wing scholars.Firstly,it is necessary to revisit the concept of communism itself and explicate the theoretical content of Marxist scientific communism. From the inception of utopian communism in the 16 th century, the conception of direct communism in the18 th century, and the critical development of communism in the 19 th century,Marx gradually formed the theory of establishing a communist society without exploitation and oppression based on the social objective conditions and theoretical foundation brought about by the innovation and development of science and technology. He focused on the field of political economy, revealed the material basis of the historical development process, expounded the dynamic and developmental laws of this process, and ultimately demonstrated the historical inevitability of capitalism being replaced by a communist society and the characteristics of a communist society.Secondly, the ideological shift of Western radical left-wing scholars towards communism is introduced. In the current situation where new confrontations and struggles are forming,left-wing scholars hope to seek a new strategic vision for the collective fate of humanity in the "new communism" reconstructed under critique.Generally speaking, there are two theoretical paths to the existence of communism. One is represented by Badiou and Zizek, hoping to find a new form of communism outside the capitalist system that returns to the starting point of communism. The other is represented by Hardt and Negri, attempting to find a path to communism within the digital capitalist era within the capitalist system. The re-understanding of the concept of communism also represents their reconstruction of the content of the communist program. They have extended the range of revolutionary subjects, proposed new forms of organization, and integrated new propositions into the revolutionary strategy of communism. Finally, the Western radical left-wing communist ideas are comprehensively examined. On the one hand, this reconstruction enriches the ways of interpreting communism and brings new enlightenment to the critique of capitalism. On the other hand,left-wing scholars generally deviate from the dialectical method of history and political economy critique, expand the extension of the revolutionary subject, and weaken its revolutionary nature. Therefore, they have a fundamental difference from Marx and cannot be regarded as true communists. |
