Research On The Relationship Between Metaphor And Deformation In Animation

With the development of the information age,the field of visual media has undergone a revolutionary transformation and has gradually entered a boom.The frequent emergence of the moving image has expanded its scope but blurred the boundaries,causing animation to lose sight of its own language in the process of creation.The development of the animation industry needs active support and guidance from animation theory alongside technological advances.At present,in the study of animation,the focus of attention is mainly on the technical aspects or the presentation of visual effects,but rarely on the theoretical study of animation from a deeper cognitive level.Therefore,this paper will carry out research on the relationship between metaphor and deformation in animation,so as to suggest valuable ideas and directions for the creation of contemporary animation.The paper firstly analyses the problem of excessive integration between contemporary animation and cinema,summarises two key problems of convergence between animation and cinema at the visual and connotative levels,and proposes corresponding solutions to these problems on the basis of theoretical research on the current state of animation ontology at home and abroad.Secondly,in the object of study-the relationship between metaphor and deformation in animation,the concepts of the two techniques are firstly elaborated separately on the basis of animation ontology,and their specific applications in animation are introduced respectively,so as to have a preliminary knowledge and understanding of metaphor and deformation,and try to find out the common features or correlations between them.Then,on the basis of the ontological language of animation,we will analyse and elaborate on the expression and operation mechanism of metaphor and deformation in animation,and further grasp the basic form and hierarchy of metaphor and deformation in animation creation.Finally,the combination of metaphor and deformation is analysed from three perspectives: symbolic composition,referential behaviour and audience level,as a complement to the return to the ontological language of animation and as a guide to the future development of the animation industry.The article uses the above analysis and research results as the theoretical support for the graduation work,and further demonstrates the feasibility of the relationship between metaphor and deformation for animation in a practical way,so as to sublimate the connotation of the graduation work.To sum up,by constructing a theory of the relationship between metaphor and deformation in animation,creating an animation work that combines metaphor and deformation,giving targeted solutions and practical effects to the problems presented in the process of animation development,and contributing to the future development of animation.
