Research On Liu Gongquan’s Running Script Works And Reflections On Related Creative Practice

Liu Gongquan achieved a high level of attainment in running script,and Song people regarded his running script and regular script as the best,with a unique style and aesthetic value.However,due to the lack of reliable ink marks of his running script works,there are few studies and discussions in later generations.This article first sorts out Liu Gongquan’s running script works in the engraved posts and two doubtful ink works,combined with the research notes on engraved posts of past dynasties,sorts out the text content,interpretation,authenticity and other issues of the works.Then,focusing on the use of brushes and knotted characters,combined with the evolution and inheritance of the calligraphy style of the Tang Dynasty,it analyzes the technical characteristics and aesthetic characteristics of Liu Gongquan’s running script,and discusses how to correct "fat and turbid" with "freshness".On this basis,this article discusses the relationship between their writing and Liu Gongquan’s running script by analyzing the running script works of calligraphers in the Song and Jin Dynasties and Wang Duo.In the related creative practice,the author copied and imitated Liu Gongquan’s running script around the engraved posts,sorted out the development of Jin and Tang running script around Liu Gongquan’s running script,and used it to guide his own creative practice.
