| Landscape painting prospered in the Song Dynasty,and there were many literati who were also capable of poetry and painting,and the poems for paintings were innumerable.The four great poets of Zhongxing in the Southern Song Dynasty,as one of the representative groups in the poetry circle,have status in the history of literature.Based on the statistics of the number of four poets’ poems for paintings,this paper follows the academic tradition of the figures referred to by the "Four Great Poets of Zhongxing in the Southern Song Dynasty" and chooses the poems for landscape paintings by Lu You,Fan Chengda,Yang Wanli and You Mao as the research objects.In terms of poetry content,the four poets all pay attention to describing the scenery in the painting,writing natural landscapes and human landscapes into their poems,and expressing their personal feelings through the scenery in the painting,for example,Lu You and Fan Chengda are worried about the current state of the country,feeling that their life experiences are changeable,Yang Wanli loves natural landscapes,and You Mao is looking forward to retiring as an official.In the terms of artistic characteristics,the four poets’ poems for landscape paintings reflect the commonness of humanity,The Times and the individuality of the poets.The four poets all let themselves enter the painting by imagination,achieving the artistic conception of "I am in the painting",and realizing the pursuit of the ancient Chinese literati for landscape and the spirit of freedom and liberation in the poems for landscape painting.The poetic genres of the four poets are mostly quatrains,which reflects the literati’s preference for aesthetic interest as "View the big from the small" in poetry and painting in the Southern Song Dynasty.The aesthetic concepts of wield the pen and drawing materials in Lu You’s and Yang Wanli’s poems show their own poetic thoughts of "powerful strokes" and "feeling the inspiration".In terms of cultural characteristics,the geographical images in four poets’ poems for landscape paintings reflect the cultures of different regions,such as the ancient capital culture of Guanzhong in Lu You’s poems,the goddess culture of Wushan in Fan Chengda’s poems,the highly respectable family culture of Luling in Yang Wanli’s poems and the seclusion culture of Xiaoxiang in You Mao’s poems.In terms of literary significance,the four poets developed and innovated the creation of landscape painting poems from the perspective of the times and individuals.The four poets took the initiative to connect poetry and painting in the creation of landscape painting poems,which further promoted the integration of theory and practice of poetry and painting in the Song Dynasty.In addition,the political connotation and national emotion expressed in Lu You’s poems for maps promoted the development of patriotic poems in the middle and late Southern Song Dynasty.Yang Wanli’s poems expanded the language style of painting poems with the artistic characteristics of writing elegant things in common sayings.Fan Chengda’s defense of the goddess in his poems enriched the image of Wushan Goddess.These contents are not only the novelty presented by the four poets in their creation of poems for landscape painting,but also the uniqueness of poems for landscape painting in the Zhongxing period of the Southern Song Dynasty. |
