In Strange Tales of Liao-Zhai,Pu Songling created strange and bizarre stories with his rich imagination and full of emotions, depicting colorful images of objects, and pinning his own spontaneous ecological aesthetic awareness. The story of Strange Tales of Liao-Zhai mainly expresses ecological aesthetic connotations from three aspects: man and nature, man and society, and man and man himself.Strange Tales of Liao-Zhai not only depicts the characters with true temperament and the amiable nature, but also highlights the mutual intimacy and integration between man and nature in the living world. The relationship of the unity of nature implies the ecological aesthetic connotation of the harmonious unity of man and nature. On the relationship between people and society,Strange Tales of LiaoZhai criticizes the ugly reality and constructs an ideal social space.Strange Tales of Liao-Zhai boldly exposes cruel and inhumane corrupt officials and tyrannical gentry who oppress the common people, plunder and plunder,as well as the distortions and harms of the lives of scholars caused by the abuses of the imperial examination system. On the other hand, the work depicts an ideal society full of civil justice, and a warm ideal social ecological space shows a society that respects individuals, treats people honestly and harmoniously coexists. In terms of the relationship between people and themselves,Strange Tales of Liao-Zhai not only affirms that people pursue material interests and express their inner desires through legitimate means, but at the same time, the protagonist of the story can also be separated from material desires and desires, transcending the oppression of life and death, fame, and desire to survive, thereby gaining spiritual freedom. The ecological aesthetic implication of Strange Tales of Liao-Zhai has a multi-layered influence on the development of later literature and ecological aesthetics theory. The later literary work Fireworks Roll continued the writing of nature isomorphic with human life in Strange Tales of Liao-Zhai,and at the same time entered a deeper spiritual connection between human and nature, and gave birth to practical significance.A Dream of Red Mansions and Goldblatt H take nature as a symbol of life force. The former shows the author’s philosophical thinking on human destiny through the complexity and tragic nature of the ‘Wood and Stone Front’;Beyond the power of modern moral discipline, this is both an inheritance and a further development of Strange Tales of LiaoZhai.Strange Tales of Liao-Zhai shows that the ecological ethics of‘cherishing life’ and ‘protecting life’ have many similarities. It’s a new ecological aesthetics practice with new contributions to the construction of Chinese discourse of ecological aesthetics.
