During the Chu and Han Dynasties,the development of wooden figurines reached its peak,providing important information for studying the social politics,economy,and culture of that time.On the basis of sorting out publicly published archaeological data and combining previous academic research,this article discusses in more detail the temporal and spatial distribution of the wooden and ceramic figurines of the Chu and Han dynasties,and discusses the ups and downs of the wooden and ceramic figurines during this period,production techniques,style,and other content;This paper analyzes the reasons for the prosperity of the wooden figurines in the State of Chu,and based on their own image characteristics and symbolic social identity roles,divides the identity types of the wooden figurines in the State of Chu into wizard figurines,waiter figurines,warrior figurines,music and dance figurines,kitchen figurines,and wooden "figurines",and deeply explores the world outlook of immortality of the soul and "death as life" implied behind them.The Western Han Dynasty wooden figurines reveal the artistic style and characteristics of the Chu wooden figurines in terms of region,type,and clothing style.On the basis of the Chu wooden figurines,both the type and quantity have developed to a certain extent;The prosperity of the wooden figurines in the Western Han Dynasty was related to the filial piety ideology pursued by the times and the maturing world outlook after death.After the Eastern Han Dynasty,wooden figurines declined sharply,losing their mainstream position in tombs and replacing them with pottery figurines that were relatively simple to make and relatively inexpensive to produce;The prosperity of pottery figurines was mostly influenced by the people-oriented ideology of the society at that time.The wooden figurines of the Chu and Han dynasties,to some extent,influenced the type and style of pottery figurines,but there were basically no significant changes in the human figurines unearthed in later generations. |
