Research On Gao Gong’s Pratical Learning Thought

In the middle and late Ming dynasty,the court ruled in chaos,the people were struggling fiercely,and the frontier crisis was frequent.Gao Gong believed that the gradually rigid the rationalism of Cheng and Zhu and the empty and silent Yang Ming’s theory of mind could not save the Ming dynasty from the crisis,and that only the efficient and practical thought could liberate the society and promote the improvement of social productivity.At the present stage of academic research on Gao Gong,it mainly involves his reform ideas and achievements,but not much research on his academic ideas,and there are controversies on the characterization as qiological ideas and practical learning thought.The article attempts to characterize Gao Gong’s academic thought and practical achievements as practical learning thought by comprehensively clarifying them.By focusing on Gao Gong’s thought of realism,and by discussing the realpolitik reform under his guidance,and analyzing its role in the dynastic crisis of the late Ming Dynasty,the article gives people a fairer evaluation of Gao Gong,and also provides lessons for today’s society.The article starts from the historical background and ideological origin of Gao Gong’s practical learning thought,explores the influence of the dynasty and the trend of thought of the time on it,and discusses the main contents of his practical learning thought from four aspects: the theory of qi as the entity of yuan qi,the theory of godlessness as the reality,the theory of seeking truth as the reality,and the theory of the unity of the opposing scriptures,fully examines the connotation of his thought to be expressed,and thoroughly explores the theoretical advantages he possesses.Later,by summarizing Gao Gong’s achievements in practical government,it shows the important role of his scholastic thought for the dynastic crisis in the middle and late Ming Dynasty.On this basis,its practical significance is refined through the analysis of the theoretical gains and losses of Gao Gong’s practical learning thought.
