| Wang Shizhen,as a great writer in the early Qing Dynasty, not only made great achievements in poetry creation, but also liked to make friends with scribes with his poems, and made prefaces and postscripts for other people’s poetry collections, and others also actively prefaced and postscripts his poems. These prefaces and postscripts can be divided into three categories and have their own characteristics.First,Wang Shizhen’s prefaces and postscripts for his own collection of poems are more than postscripts,in which the language style and emotion change with the growth of Wang Shizhen’s age and experience. In terms of language style,he has a sense of elegance in his early years,a sense of grandeur and calmness in his middle years, but he tends to be plain and slightly sad in his later years, and his emotions gradually change from cheerful and positive to depressed;Second,Wang Shizhen’s prefaces and postscripts for other people’s poetry collections are more than prefaces, and the evaluation of the literati and works in the past dynasties is basically presented in the form of postscript, while the evaluation of the literati and works at that time is presented in the form of preface, which can be divided into three different writing angles: literature, history and politics. The language has the style of harmony between workers and villages, and the words of harmony between workers and villages are more common in prefaces, and the words of harmony are more common in postscript. When discussing,we should pay more attention to other documents and quote quotations.Third, the prefaces and postscripts made by others for Wang Shizhen’s poetry collection are more than the postscripts, and the creative concept of poetry is reflected in the writing of prefaces and postscripts. The discussion on traditional poetry propositions and the situation of poetry at that time is extremely enthusiastic, and the characteristics of regional literature are emphasized. The views on Wang Shizhen’s poetry creation concept and critical concept tend to regard him as a master. From these three kinds of prefaces and postscripts,it is not difficult to examine the friendship between Wang Shizhen and the literati in the early Qing Dynasty: Wang Shizhen paid attention to proper limit when making friends with the literati groups in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, but they were familiar but not close; He had a deep friendship and close contacts with the literati group of adherents who refused to be an official in the early Qing Dynasty. The behavior of making friends with the literati group who only went out to be an official or took the exam in the early Qing Dynasty is mostly based on the compilation of the second set of their theories. In addition, the preface and postscript of Wang Shizhen’s poetry collection also contains his poetic purport, namely, the author’s value concept of attaching equal importance to his character and writings, the critical consciousness of paying attention to Zen in poetry, the aesthetic tendency of pursuing elegant poetry color, and his interest in reading. At the same time, the interaction of prefaces and postscripts between Wang Shizhen and the literati has also built a network of friends between the literati, thus enhancing the fame of the works and authors, which is conducive to the spread of each other’s poetic ideas, and these prefaces and postscripts,as historical materials of the theory of taste, provide a new perspective for later literary criticism to some extent. However, there are also some cases in these prefaces and postscripts that can not be exempted from customs. One is that the slightly exaggerated language in the prefaces and postscripts will bring a sense of flattery or be inconsistent with historical truth;Secondly, the preface and postscript are occasionally self-satisfied,which reduces the personality charm of the creator to some extent. These are also some commonalities of ancient prefaces and postscripts, which deserve attention. |
