| In the new era and on a new journey, the field of international education in China,as an integral part of our country’s educational opening to the outside world,is closely related to the core competitiveness and international influence of Chinese education.International students serve as important bridges for cultural exchange between China and other countries. In terms of cultural teaching, although the field of Chinese language teaching has put forward methods such as "cultural integration" and "cultural incorporation," these methods mainly focus on how Chinese language teachers "teach" culture and do not address the aspect of how students "learn" culture.Experiential cultural teaching,as distinct from traditional cultural teaching models, emphasizes the use of personal experience and immersive learning to truly acquire one’s own knowledge and abilities. It fosters the simultaneous development of communicative and cognitive skills, mutually reinforcing each other.Regional culture,as an important component of Chinese culture, should also have a certain proportion in specific cultural teaching.Regional culture is the most direct exposure to Chinese culture for international students, making it particularly suitable for experiential approaches. This can enhance international students’ cultural awareness, understanding, and adaptation.Culture requires carriers, and various cultural heritage, relics, museums, cultural activities, and other cultural and museum resources serve as carriers for the transmission and display of regional culture. On one hand, cultural and museum resources can reflect the history, humanities, nature, and other aspects of a region. On the other hand, regional culture enriches the connotation and significance of cultural and museum resources, providing a deeper and broader cultural and historical background. This paper relies on cultural and museum resources for the development of a course on regional cultural experiences for international students, with a specific design focusing on the Chongqing region. The paper is divided into seven chapters. The introduction clarifies the research background, significance, content, and includes a literature review.Chapters 2 and 3primarily focus on theory: Chapter 2 reviews the research history and current application status of teaching regional culture to international students, while Chapter 3 investigates the advantages, significance, and methods of applying cultural and museum resources in teaching regional culture to international students.Chapters 4 and 5 center on design: Chapter 4 discusses curriculum content selection, establishment of design principles, and evaluation of course effectiveness from a top-down perspective, while Chapter 5 presents the instructional design of a Chongqing cultural experience course based on specific cultural and museum resources in Chongqing.Chapter 6 provides a summary and elevation of the research results, offering course recommendations for this topic from the perspectives of teaching suggestions, resource generation, and future prospects. The conclusion section integrates theory and practice, discusses innovation and limitations, and reviews the research conducted in this study. |
