In 1981,the first revolutionary historical drama "Eighteen Years in Enemy Camp" was born.Six years later,in 1987,the "Leading Group for the Creation of Revolutionary Historical Theme Films and TV Dramas" was established to guide the creation of revolutionary historical dramas.Since the 1980 s,revolutionary historical dramas have had a "gushing" outbreak.After decades of development,in order to adapt to changes in the times and aesthetic preferences,revolutionary historical dramas have continuously updated their narrative styles and achieved good social results.In2021 revolutionary historical dramas marking the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China have continued to innovate their narratives on the basis of previous models,strengthening the contemporary and popular expression of the spirit of the Red Revolution.This article takes the revolutionary historical dramas broadcasted on CCTV-1 as there search object,namely "The Awakening Age","Rushing River",“ Top Secret Mission"and "The Great Battle",each corresponding to the story of the founding of the Party.the Party leading the people’s struggle,and the founding of the country.From ahistorical perspective,these four dramas are a complete representation of the history of the new democratic revolution.From a content perspective,these four dramas reflect the continuity of character portrayal in their narrative techniques.In short,these four revolutionary historical dramas have innovated in their narrative modes,and while adhering to the principle of "not being fictitious about big events,nor restricted about small events" in revolutionary historical dramas,they appropriately adjust and integrate with other narrative elements,forming their own unique narrative characteristics.This article takes these four dramas as visual texts to study the narrative innovation in the revolutionary historical dramas of the Party’s centenary,hoping to provide some suggestions for the development of this type of TV drama.The first chapter,starting from the concept and development process of revolutionary historical drama,presents the overall development of revolutionary historical drama.From the point of view of government and academia,this paper discusses the definition of revolutionary historical drama.At the same time,it combs the reasons and characteristics of the development of revolutionary historical dramas in each period,clarifies relevant concepts,and defines a certain framework for the study of revolutionary historical dramas.On this basis,the paper analyzes the transformation of revolutionary historical drama,and clarifies the new characteristics of revolutionary historical drama in the centenary of the founding of the Party from the perspective of transformation reasons and transformation contents.Chapter 1 presents the development process of revolutionary historical dramas,and presents the development context of revolutionary historical dramas.From the perspectives of both the industry and academia,it explores the characteristics and reasons for the development of revolutionary historical dramas in each era.Chapter 2 mainly analyzes the transformation of revolutionary historical drama,starting with the reasons and content of the transformation,and clarifying the new characteristics of the revolutionary historical drama on the occasion of the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China.The reasons for the transformation are divided into internal and external factors,and the content of the transformation mainly focuses on the emotional structure of patriotism and humanistic reflection on war and humanity.Chapter 3 mainly analyzes the character portrayal and traits in the revolutionary historical theme TV drama of the centenary of the founding of the Party.Secondly,it analyzes the characteristics of revolutionary figures from different revolutionary periods to demonstrate the new characteristics of revolutionary figure portrayal as a specific presentation of the complete process from ideology to behavior.At the same time,the author believes that in the revolutionary historical theme dramas of the centenary of the founding of the Party,multi-layered and multi-dimensional approaches have been taken in the portrayal of both positive and negative characters.Chapter 4 mainly explores the integration of narrative strategies in the revolutionary historical theme TV dramas of the 100 th anniversary of the Communist Party of China.lt analyzes how these dramas appropriately incorporate narrative elements of love and youth,forming a "revolution + romance" revolutionary romantic love narrative.and a "revolution + youth" revolutionary youth story.In the blood-stained romance,these dramas showcase the revolutionary love story of revolutionary couples.In the youth story,they present the era responsibilities of revolutionary youth.Chapter 5 mainly expounds the reflection and prospect on the creation of the drama of revolutionary history.This paper reflects on the problems in the creation of revolutionary historical TV dramas from three aspects.First,the combination of revolutionary characters and audio-visual language is not close;Second,the weakening of the color of education;The third is about using stars.Secondly,it looks forward to the drama of revolutionary history from three aspects.First,it should study the revolutionary history with craftsman spirit.The second is to improve the humanistic feelings,to achieve emotional moving;Third,the construction of traditional Chinese narrative artistic conception.
