The educated youth group is a unique and impressive part of Chinesecontemporary history. They accompanied with the reform and opening up, experiencedsuffering and faced to the opportunities, whose fate is full of legend, due to theparticular period. The teleplay tells the fate of the educated youth is very attractive.Educated youth drama generated in the early1980s, which is an important componentof Chinese realistic theme drama.After more than30years, educated youth drama has presented a large number ofexcellent works. There is still no research or discussion on the whole till now. Thispaper will use the text study method and literature research method, study the educatedyouth drama since1982to now, summarizes the educated youth drama’s background,cultural connotation, the narrative strategy, the characteristics of the character imagemold, etc. Compared to the earlier text, educated youth drama emerge obviousdifferences and trends in terms of narrative, aesthetic features and characters. Thispaper also analyses the reason of these changes and development, insist the creation ofeducated youth drama should pay attention to the balance between historical truth andartistic truth, and educated youth drama in the new era of environment will show andthe integration of other types of series of narrative mode, and the trend of the educatedyouth image gradually marginalized.
