Textbooks are the main carrier for schools to carry out teaching work and students to learn in school.Since modern times,textbooks have undergone different stages of development and evolution following the pulse of the times.The Nanjing National Government was established in 1927 and adopted a series of measures to promote the development of education,while also strengthening overall control over education.As the main carrier for primary school students to learn history,the compilation of primary school history textbooks has been greatly influenced by the "Party oriented education" and "Three People’s Principles" educational policies at that time,the "approval system" of textbooks,and three changes in primary school history curriculum standards.With the gradual stabilization of the current situation and economic development,major publishers,represented by the Commercial Press and the Zhonghua Book Company,have launched distinctive primary school history textbooks to meet the needs of the market,driving the rapid development of the compilation and publication of primary school history textbooks from 1927 to 1937.At the same time,it should be noted that during this period,many cultural celebrities joined the writing team of primary school history textbooks,with special geographical and educational backgrounds Career background and working mechanism have a very important impact on the quality of primary school history textbooks.In addition,the competition between the Zhonghua Book Company and the Commercial Press in the field of textbooks is very fierce,which not only improves the quality of textbooks,but also promotes the promotion of textbooks.This situation ended with the outbreak of the Comprehensive Anti Japanese War in 1937,which made the history textbooks for primary schools from 1927 to 1937 unique.The development process of textbooks also coincides with the development and evolution process of the times,and has been deeply branded by the times.During this period,primary school history textbooks interacted with popular social trends of thought at that time,emphasizing both the absorption of the latest research achievements in history and the influence of American educator Dewey’s "child centered" ideology,making primary school history textbooks keep pace with the times,not only bearing the mission entrusted by the times,but also meeting the level of children’s physical and mental development.Whether viewed from the perspective of history or pedagogy,it is unique.Of course,it should also be noted that,subject to various factors,primary school history textbooks during this period still had many limitations and shortcomings.All these have brought reference and inspiration to today’s textbook compilation.
