As more and more countries carry out Chinese education,the number of people learning Chinese is also increasing day by day.It is urgent to formulate a more scientific and reasonable standard of Chinese ability.The Chinese Proficiency Grading Standards for International Chinese Education(2021)was born in this context,which provides a reference for international Chinese teaching and the establishment of a nationalized Chinese proficiency level standard,and helps to improve the quality of international Chinese education.Based on the Chinese Proficiency Grading Standards for International Chinese Education(2021),this paper compares the syllable table,Chinese character table,vocabulary table and grammar table in the three documents of the Outline of Grade vocabulary and Characters for Chinese Proficiency issued in 1992,the Chinese proficiency level standard and grammar level outline issued in 1996 and the Graded Chinese Syllables,Characters and Words for the Application of Teaching Chinese to the Speakers of Other Language issued in 2010,so as to find out the changes of Chinese Proficiency Level Standards in recent decades and their impact on international Chinese education.Finally,it clarifies the significance of Outline of Grade vocabulary and Characters for Chinese Proficiency(2021)and its enlightenment to teaching and examination.Through the collation and analysis of the main data in the four documents,we draw the following conclusions : In terms of Chinese characters,Outline of Grade vocabulary and Characters for Chinese Proficiency(2021)adjusts and adds or deletes the included Chinese characters according to the frequency of Chinese characters,word formation ability,stroke number and other factors.The levels of high frequency,strong word formation ability and fewer strokes are down-regulated,and vice versa.In addition,the newly added quantitative Chinese character table of Outline of Grade vocabulary and Characters for Chinese Proficiency(2021)also provides an important reference for Chinese character writing.In terms of syllables,the Outline of Grade vocabulary and Characters for Chinese Proficiency(2021)updates and refines the content on the basis of the " syllable Chinese character vocabulary classification for Chinese education " issued in 2010,which strengthens the connectivity between syllables and Chinese characters and vocabulary,improves the efficiency of teaching and reduces the difficulty of learning to a certain extent.In terms of vocabulary,most of the Chinese characters added in the Outline of Grade vocabulary and Characters for Chinese Proficiency(2021)are new words that appear with the development of society.Among the words with declining grades,some are due to the development and changes of the times.The frequency of use has increased,some are simple in semantics and easy to understand,and some are words and four-character idioms with Chinese cultural connotations;the deleted words are mostly words that are no longer used and are not suitable for the development of the times.Among the rising words,they are mainly used in low frequency,onomatopoeia and some commonly used formats;in terms of grammar,under the premise of ensuring the teaching effect,the grammar table in the Outline of Grade vocabulary and Characters for Chinese Proficiency(2021)greatly simplifies the number of grammar points,makes the expression more clear,the classification more scientific,the difficulty more reasonable,and effectively eliminates the fear of learners.Outline of Grade vocabulary and Characters for Chinese Proficiency(2021)is the latest,most professional,most scientific and most practical Chinese level standard in the field of international Chinese education.It makes teachers ’ ’ teaching ’ and students ’ ’learning ’ more clear and more directional,and also plays an important reference role in formulating national Chinese level standards for countries around the world.This also enlightens us to further play the role of syllables in Chinese education in the process of implementing the Outline of Grade vocabulary and Characters for Chinese Proficiency(2021)in the next step.With the development of the times,we should focus on the addition and deletion of words and grade change words,make the grammar points easy to understand,increase the interest of learners,clarify the key and difficult points of teaching,and continuously enhance the positive backwash effect of the Outline of Grade vocabulary and Characters for Chinese Proficiency(2021)on the HSK.
