"Siqi" is taken from the Siqi Tiaoshen Dalun in the Huangdi Neijing,which is intended to show the climate change in the four seasons.The typical flower patterns of the four seasons are an important part of traditional Chinese decorative patterns,and they are also visual image symbols with oriental characteristics,which have important aesthetic and academic research values.The evolution history of four seasons flower patterns reflects the process of the development and changes of Chinese aesthetic forms.As a visual language,the patterns appear in large quantities on material carriers such as handicrafts,sculptures and paintings.The study of the imagery and morphological characteristics of the four seasons flower patterns is the inheritance and development of the traditional flower patterns,which is of extraordinary significance to the succession and creation of today’s designers.This paper takes orchids,lotus,chrysanthemums and plum blossoms among the four seasons flowers as the objects,and conducts research through two main lines of image tracing and morphological evolution.With the research methods such as visual atlas display method,vertical and horizontal relationship comparison method,historical development trajectory statistics method,literature data method,comprehensive analysis method,etc.One line focuses on the analysis of the evolution of the meanings of the four flowers: orchid,lotus,chrysanthemum,and plum blossoms,in order to explore their inner meaning evolution process.The other line infers the image characteristics of the four seasons flowers in different historical periods from the perspective of the material carrier and morphological evolution of the patterns of the four seasons flowers.By collating and analyzing the implication and morphological characteristics expressed by the flowers of the four seasons in various dynasties,and sorting out the time axis,it clearly shows the evolution law in the process of historical development.On this basis,the implication and representative elements of the four seasons flowers are integrated and refined,and the characteristic display form with the evolution law is designed in the way of data narrative,so as to realize the publicity of the patterns of the four seasons flowers.Through the author’s research and design practice,it provides a meaningful demonstration for the revitalization of four seasons flower patterns,enriches the existing statistical academic materials and academic literature of Chinese traditional flower patterns,and hopes to provide useful reference for future related research. |
