| Assignment is one of the important links in teaching activities,and also an important means to consolidate and test students’ learning effects.However,the current research on English is mostly focused on class teaching,and the research on assignment design is still relatively a few.On the one hand,the quality of assignment is poor,most of which are knowledge written assignment,which brings serious assignment burden to students;On the other hand,language learning is gradual and continuous.We should consider the integrity of the language,start from the unit and design the instructional objectives as a whole,meanwhile,promote the implementation of the unit teaching as a whole.Therefore,unit assignment design has become an inevitable requirement.Unit assignments refer to the sum of all assignments in the learning unit.It is an important attempt to improve the quality of assignment design and reduce students’ assignment burden by designing assignment as a whole in units.The purpose of this study is to understand the current situation of the design and implementation of English unit assignment in primary school,and then apply relevant design concepts to the design of English unit assignment based on backward design,so as to clarify the principles and ideas of the design of English unit assignment in primary school.It is expected to provide reference for primary English teachers in first-line when designing unit assignment,to design high-quality,scientific and reasonable unit assignment,to reduce students’ assignment burden from the root,and to help cultivate students’ core competency and achieve all-round development.This research adopts the methods of literature research,questionnaire survey,interview and case study method.First of all,read and sort out the literature on backward design and unit assignment.Take the theory of multiple intelligences,the "zone of recent development" theory,and the goal model theory as the theoretical basis of unit assignment design,providing theoretical support for subsequent research;Secondly,a questionnaire survey was conducted in each class from Grade 3 to Grade6 of F Primary School in Nanchang,and five teachers in the English group were interviewed to know the current design and implementation of English unit assignment in primary schools,so as to find problems and learn from experience;Thirdly,on the basis of theoretical research and current survey results,the backward design method is applied to the design of unit assignment,and the design principles and ideas of English unit assignment in primary schools are propose.The unit work design includes the design of objectives,evaluation and content.At last,based on the design idea,take the third unit of the fifth grade volume I of People’s Education Press as an example to design the unit assignment case. |
