| The English Curriculum Standards for Senior High Schools(2017 Edition,2020Revision)proposes that teaching should pay attention to the combination of in-class and extracurricular training.Extracurricular training includes assignment.Assignment is not only an important part of English teaching,but also one of the effective ways to consolidate and test students’ classroom learning effect.However,at present,most of the research on English subjects focuses on classroom teaching,and there is a relative lack of research on the design and application of assignment.At the same time,there are some problems in the current assignment,which affect the teaching effect of teachers and the acquisition of students’ knowledge.With the introduction of the “double reduction” policy and the promotion of the unit integrity teaching,the overall design of assignment based on the unit has become an important attempt to improve the quality of assignment design and reduce the burden of student’ schoolwork.Based on the theory of whole language approach,constructivism and multiple intelligences theory,this research carries out the design and application of English unit assignment in senior high school.This research aims to answer the following three questions:(1)What is the status of implementation of English unit assignments at the high school level?(2)What are the strategies of high school English unit assignment design?(3)How will the application of high school English unit assignment affect students’ English learning attitude?Firstly,this paper adopts the methods of questionnaire and interview,takes the students and teachers of senior high school in Z City of F Province as the research object,and investigates the current situation of the implementation of English unit assignment in senior high school from six dimensions: assignment attitude,assignment type,assignment content,assignment amount,assignment difficulty and assignment evaluation.Secondly,based on literature research and investigation,this paper puts forward specific requirements and views on the design basis and design principles of high school English unit assignment,and expounds the design strategies of high school English unit assignment combined with Dick &Carey’s systematic teaching design mode.Finally,this paper carried out the action research on unit assignment based on senior high school English textbooks of PEP version in the teaching class,and analyzed and studied the application of unit assignment and the changes of students’ English learning attitude by using questionnaires and interviews.The conclusions of this paper are as follows:(1)At present,there are some problems in the implementation of English unit assignment in senior high school,involving the content,type,difficulty and evaluation of assignment,which are embodied in the single content and type,the lack of level of difficulty,and the neglect of ethical concern in evaluation.(2)Based on the curriculum standards,high school English textbooks,students’ physical and mental characteristics and cognitive basis,the design principles of integrity,purposefulness,subjectivity,diversity and hierarchy,combined with Dick & Carey’s systematic teaching design model,this study forms a design path map of unit assignment,which is used to guide the design of high school English unit assignment.(3)Through action research,it is found that the high school English unit assignment design strategies in this study help students gradually change from passive completion of homework to active completion of homework,improve students’ interest in English learning and mobilize students’ enthusiasm in learning English. |
