Teaching based on the overall unit design is conducive to changing the current fragmentation of English classropm teaching and the real implementation of the cultivation of core literacy.However,in teaching practice,it is difficult for the overall class plan of the unit,and brings new challenges to the reconstruction of teacherseducation and teaching concept,paradigm application and evaluation imovation.In this research,literature research and research methods studied the design and application of English units in primary schools.First define the core concept of the unit and analyze English liteacy,constructivist theory and overall linguistic theory.Secondly,the questionnaire was issued to explore and analyze the existing problems according to the survey results,and carry out the correspon ding attribution analysis,and then put forward targeted suggestions and improvement strategies.The study has found that the overall unit design can effectively stimulate students ’ interest in learning and improve the level of teacher education and teaching-However,in the overall design of the unit,teachers lack overall teaching material view and objective consciousness;in the implementation of unit teaching,there are problems including lack of task relevance and effectiveness of evaluation.According to the analysis of the problem,From the teachers perspective,Suggestions on the design and application of primary school English unit teaching are:First,Establish the overall teaching material view,Adjust the teaching content and methods according to the actual conditions,Give full play to the role of teaching materials and other resources;Second,Establish multiple objective awareness,Focus on the students ’"learning,"Pay attention to the cultivation of the overall thinking of the student system;Third,Build a system of evaluation system,Focus on the organic combination of formative evaluation and final evaluation,Promote the consistency and effectiveness of teaching evaluation.
