Art Study Of Giuseppe Penone Under The Perspective Of Ecological Aesthetics

Giuseppe Penone is one of the most important representative artists of Arte Povera.Born in 1947 in Garecio(Piedmont),Italy,he now lives and works in Turin,Italy and Paris,France.In 1968,he held his first solo exhibition,which attracted the attention of the industry.The main themes of his artistic creation are "nature","plants","life","identity","time" and "environment",which imply the basic survival and development of human beings and nature in ecological aesthetics.Both his use of artistic materials and his creation techniques show unique "ecological aesthetic thoughts".The tone of his works is approachable and unpretentious,conveying the most essential social values and supernatural aesthetic concepts.Through Penone’s works of art full of visual tension,we can perceive the artist’s strong appeal to actively explore the meaning of life,the nature of humanity and emotional value.Based on Giuseppe Perone’s creative practice,this paper explores the expression and presentation of the theme of ecological aesthetics in his art,as well as the aesthetic value and social significance of his artistic creation.This paper is mainly divided into six chapters: first,the introduction,the ecological aesthetics theory,Arte Povera,Giuseppe Perone related research overview;The first chapter analyzes and defines the related concepts of ecological aesthetics,and sorts out the concept,research object and practice form of ecological aesthetics.The second chapter analyzes the reasons for the generation of Giuseppe Perone’s art through his life and historical background,starting from three aspects: family influence,college education and social and cultural background.The third chapter analyzes the theme of Giuseppe Perone’s art,and interprets the essence of life,the alienation of things,the materialization of the body and the passage of time.In the fourth chapter,from the perspective of ecological aesthetics,the use of media and creative techniques of art are analyzed,and the integration of media and materials with people,objects,natural environment,social environment,time and space in art is expounded.The fifth chapter analyzes the unique aesthetic value and social value of Giuseppe Perone’s art from several aspects,such as the boundary between art and life,the inherent tension of media itself,the symbolic nature of natural objects,the poetic expression of objects,and the harmonious coexistence between man and nature.This paper provides a new perspective for the case study of artists: the exploration and analysis of Penone’s artistic creation from the perspective of ecological aesthetics can establish a more systematic,clear and profound understanding of Giuseppe Penone’s art,and systematize and theorize the research method of Penone’s ecological aesthetic thought in his art research.At the same time,it is also the supplement and development of Penone himself and the related academic research of ecological aesthetics in fine arts.
