The concept of social status was first proposed by Adler and has since been considered by many scholars to be a consistent motivation for human existence.Social status can be divided into Social Economic Status(SES)and Subjective Social Status(SSS).Because subjective social status contains more information that is not related to socioeconomic status, the greatest impact on people is not the level of SES,but the perception of relative status inequality induced by SSS.This is even more obvious in the context of Oriental culture, which is often said to be "better than others, life is happier".The perception of relative status generated by individuals compared with similar groups will trigger feelings of fairness or non-compliance,and different self-awareness interventions will affect their life satisfaction.Compared with various kinds of self-awareness,this paper selects two more active and controllable states of consciousness,self-control and self-deception,in order to regulate subjective evaluation.Compared with social groups, the group of college students lives more on campus,SES has little impact on it,and when they come to a new environment, they are more eager to give themselves a positioning, which will further affect the campus life experience of college students. Therefore, this paper will focus on the relationship between the subjective social status of college students and life satisfaction, and further examine the relationship between self-control and self-deception,thus constituting a regulated mediation model. This study draws on the more mature scales at home and abroad to explore the variables of the study, mainly for the questionnaires distributed by college students in Henan Province,a total of 860 questionnaires were distributed, and 835 valid questionnaires were recovered.Subsequently, the hypothesis of this study was further verified by using a variety of statistical methods such as correlation analysis,Bootstrap test, and PROCESS,and the results showed that:(1)Subjective social status significantly positive prediction of life satisfaction;(2)Self-control plays a part of the mediating role between subjective social status and life satisfaction;(3)Self-deception plays a negative regulatory role between subjective social status and self-control;(5)Subjective social status, life satisfaction,self-control and self-deception constitute a regulated mediation model, and self-deception regulates the first half of the intermediary process. In the end,it is concluded that different degrees of individual social status perception will induce a corresponding degree of self-control feelings, and in this process, they will be affected by individual self-deception,and the higher the self-deception,the more positive prediction will weaken, and then make individuals perceive different degrees of life satisfaction. Finally, after the analysis and discussion of the empirical results in this study, some targeted suggestions are provided for college students in correctly perceiving social status,so as to reduce the negative emotional state and low life satisfaction caused by college students’ bad status perception,so that they can maintain a positive attitude and belief in life and spend college time better.
