A Translation Report On Poisoning The Pacific (Excerpts)

This translation report is completed on the basis of the translation of Poisoning the Pacific written by British investigative journalist,Jon Mitchell.The translator utilizes the “Comprehension,Expression,Adaptation” framework(referred to as the “CEA framework”)proposed by Li Changshuan(2014)to guide the translation project.The main innovation point of the report lies in the preliminary exploration of a set of feasible procedures for the CEA framework to control the quality of the translation,which is conducive to the application of the CEA framework.The report has five parts as its main body.Chapter One and Two are the background and description of the translation project,revealing the translation target,the translation project,and the process of the project.To roll out the project in a scientific and logical manner,the translator applies the CEA framework to the translation process,during which the translation problems may lay difficulties for the project,and weaken the translation values and the feasibility of the framework.To this end,the translator has designed the feasible procedures for every part of the CEA framework during the project process,which effectively solves translation problems in different aspects and enhances the feasibility of the framework.Therefore,Chapter Three introduces the CEA framework and puts forward a set of feasible procedures,so as to ensure the quality of the translation.Then Chapter Four demonstrates the feasibility of procedures for the CEA Framework in Chapter Three,and analyzes how the translator can actually solve translation problems guided by the CEA framework by following the procedures.Finally,Chapter Five concludes the report by indicating major findings,revealing limitations,and making recommendations for the translation project.
