| In ancient Chinese feudal society,the etiquette system was regarded by Confucianism as a political tool and important guarantee for the country’s long-term stability,and etiquette and music complemented each other and used each other to jointly regulate etiquette behavior and maintain feudal rule.The five-rite system began in the Zhou Dynasty,with the five rites of "Ji,Xiong,Jun,Bin,and Jia" as the framework of the etiquette system,and after the development of many dynasties,it continued to gain and lose in terms of ritual content,and finally matured in the Tang Dynasty.Under the civilization of ritual music,each ceremony of the five rites of the Tang Dynasty had a corresponding musical program to cooperate with it,forming a five-rite music system.At present,the domestic academic circles have achieved a lot of research results on the use of ritual music,but there is still some space for the research on the use of music in the Tang Dynasty,such as the music program of each rite in the Tang Dynasty,the new changes produced by the use of music in the Tang Dynasty compared with the previous dynasty,etc.,the discussion and solution of these problems will be the innovation of this paper.This paper will conduct an in-depth analysis of the Tang Dynasty Five Rites system and its use of music by consulting a large number of ancient documents,treatises,academic papers and other documents,firstly,briefly sort out the development context of the Five Rites system from the Zhou Dynasty to the Tang Dynasty,and elaborate on the classification of the Five Rites of the Tang Dynasty and its ritual function;The second is to explore the specific situation of the five rites of music in the Tang Dynasty,and investigate its music program,orchestra arrangement,music characteristics,etc.The third is to analyze and compare the use of music in the Tang Dynasty with the previous dynasty,so as to observe the new changes produced by the five rites of the Tang Dynasty and their use of music;The fourth is to conduct an in-depth discussion of the etiquette system of the Tang Dynasty.According to Xiang Yang’s division of the stage of the Chinese etiquette system,the Tang Dynasty was in the stereotyped period of the etiquette system,and the five-rite system at this time was not only relatively complete in terms of etiquette,but also had the mature characteristics of systematization and standardization of the five-rite ritual music.Through a comprehensive investigation of the five rites of the Tang Dynasty,this paper strives to show the development of the five rites in the Tang Dynasty more clearly,and interpret the spiritual connotation of the Tang Dynasty ritual music system in the specific form of the Tang Dynasty Five Rites Music. |
