| Since the emergence of the custom of "thick burial" in human society,the expression of tomb decoration has varied from dynasty to dynasty.In the Song Dynasty,brick carving became one of the main forms of tomb decoration,there are a large number of brick carving with flower patterns in Gansu,and many kinds of flowers,different painting techniques and rich and colorful contents.Gansu has a long history and profound cultural heritage.In the Song Dynasty,Gansu was under the jurisdiction of the Western Xia Dynasty and the Northern Song Dynasty,and was affected politically,economically,and culturally.Politically,emphasis was placed on literature and suppression of martial arts,and the imperial examination system was improved.In the Western Xia Dynasty,a "Gansu Military Division" was established in Ganzhou;Economically,the Song Dynasty developed agriculture,handicraft industry,and horse husbandry,and on this basis,developed commercial trade,resulting in a "tea horse exchange market";Culturally,it absorbs the Western Xia culture and the Song culture,blending with each other.In the Song Dynasty,a new form of tomb decoration mural appeared-brick carving.Song tombs have been found in many places in Gansu,mainly in Dingxi,Pingliang,Tianshui,Longnan,and other places.The tombs are diverse in shape and widely distributed,and different types of brick carvings with flower patterns have been unearthed.Brick murals with flower patterns are rich in content and diverse in form,implying rich cultural connotations.In the Jin Dynasty,brick carved flower patterns further developed.In the Yuan Dynasty,brick carvings with flower patterns gradually ceased to appear as tomb decoration murals,while flower patterns remained.Until the Ming and Qing dynasties,flower patterns were widely used in various aspects of life,reflecting the value of flower patterns. |
