| In 2020,due to the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic,international students will shift from offline learning to online learning,accelerating the pace of transformation of international Chinese teaching.However,there are few relevant researches on online learning for international students.Therefore,based on the two-dimensional theoretical model of acculturation proposed by Ward,this study aims to study the application of online cultural learning strategies by international students from the following three aspects: 1.To understand the general situation of international students’ use of cultural learning strategies.2.To explore the differences in the use of cultural learning strategies by international students of different genders,educational levels and Chinese proficiency.3.Explore the factors that affect the use of cultural learning strategies by international students.Based on the research purpose,this study takes 146 international students from three universities in Guizhou Province as the research objects,adopts the research methods of questionnaire survey,thinking aloud and interview,and obtains the following research results:First,among the cultural learning strategies used by international students online,the social and cultural adaptive dimension is used at a higher level,followed by the psychological adaptive dimension.Second,there are significant differences in the use of cultural learning strategies by international students in different genders,educational levels and Chinese proficiency.Girls use more adaptive strategies than boys.On the whole,the students with educational background had better use of cultural learning strategies than the students without educational background.Students with a higher level of Chinese have more choices of cultural learning strategies,while students with a lower level of Chinese are limited by their current knowledge level and cannot choose the more difficult cultural learning strategies for them.Third,the factors that affect international students’ use of online cultural learning strategies include their own factors and teachers’ factors,including Chinese proficiency,learning habits,personal interest and learning objectives,and teachers’ factors include teaching level and teaching style,among which the most important factors are international students’ own factors.This study mainly reveals international students’ use of online cultural learning strategies,explores their differences and influencing factors,and puts forward some implications for international students’ use of cultural learning strategies: 1.Pay attention to the group differences of international students’ online learning,and teach students according to their aptitude;2.Pay attention to the balanced development of students’ cultural learning strategies and achieve reasonable collocation;3.Attach importance to the creation of online learning environment and achieve continuous optimization. |
