This report is a practical report on online medical interpreting.It introduces the process of English-Chinese medical simultaneous interpreting in detail,and incorporates Gile’s Effort Model to analyze the practice.The report also analyzes the problems that occurred in this interpreting and finds solutions.The speaker’s topic is to discuss the classification and treatment of adenomyosis.The main content of this report is divided into six parts: First,introduction of the interpreting task,including the background and significance of the task.Second,introduction to the task process,including pre-interpretation preparation,interpretation process and evaluation.Third,theoretical foundation,including an overview of Effort Model theory and its components.Fourth,case analysis of interpreting problems based on the Gile’s Effort Model.Fifth,case analysis of interpreting strategies based on Gile’s Effort Model.In the case analysis and interpreting strategy chapters,the focus is on misinterpretation and information loss,and selected examples to analyze and demonstrate how the interpreter uses such strategies as syntactic linearity,summarization,simplification,and omission to allocate the efforts and solve problems.Sixth,the last chapter summarizes the inspirations,limitations and prospects.
