The Characterization Of Coloratura Soprano In Chinese And Western Operas

Coloratura is a difficult vocal singing technique in Bel canto.In western opera,Coloratura soprano has successfully portrayed many roles,most of which are female.The art of coloratura singing is an integral part of the operas of Handel,Mozart,Bellini,Donizetti,Rossini and later Verdi.In recent years,with the evolution of Chinese opera,not only Western writing techniques are widely used in the writing of Chinese opera,but Bel canto singing is also increasingly appearing in Chinese opera,among which there are also some good coloratura soprano voice roles.To examine Chinese and Western operas together is not to make comparison,but to find some commonalities and to learn from the classical coloratura female characters in western operas.This is a subject worth studying.The research in this paper includes the following parts:The first chapter of the paper discusses the basic situation of Coloratura,mainly explains the definition of "Coloratura",the classification of Coloratura soprano,the main performance of coloratura soprano skills in the cantata,the famous western Coloratura soprano cantata and the Chinese opera Coloratura soprano cantata.By summarizing the characters of Chinese and western colorato-soprano passages,Chapter two to chapter five discusses how colorato-soprano passages in western opera and Chinese opera portray the success of individual characters such as girls in love,women desperate for love,witty girls and ghosts and gods.
