| Max Reger(1873—1916)was a late German romantic composer,organist and pianist.His unique and exquisite counterpoint techniques created a lot of polyphonic music works,published known as "a modern tone key" "transfer" theory works,became the German composer Henry schmidt said "Max regel is the last giant of music industry",is known as a romantic last polyphonic master.Reger skillfully integrated Brahms’ developmental variation and Wagner’s chromatic technique in his polyphonic music.He adopts the vocal linear thinking,and controls the horizontal melody lines by the vertical factors,forming a crisscross network,showing the semitonal counterpointtechnique of high-density lines.This unique musical style is a combination of the semitemosic language with the Baroque and classical forms.As a chain connecting Brahms and Schoenberg,Regel was both the successor of late 19 th century romanticism and the forerunner of early 20 th century modernism.This article is divided into four chapters.The first chapter,combing regel’s personal life and polyphonic music characteristics.This paper discusses regel’s artistic experience,creative style,genre form,linear thinking and its technique of expression.The second chapter analyzes the elements and basic characteristics of regel’s tonal counterpoint techniques.The five basic elements of Reel are discussed,namely,harmonic basis,melody relationship,inconsistent treatment,sentence relationship,and the basic characteristics of this counterpoint technique are summarized.The third chapter discusses the three basic forms of polyphonic texture.That is,the composite linear texture,the hierarchical implicit texture,and the chord group flow texture.The fourth chapter,the practical application of the works.Two representative polyphonic works are selected to summarize the basic structure,techniques and their characteristics,hoping to provide important reference value for scholars who study polyphonic techniques in the same period. |
