With the development of the economy and society, the pressure on people is also increasing, which has led to various mental problems especially anxiety disorders.People attach more importance to psychological health,so the domestic psychotherapy needs to keep up with the international treatment level as soon as possible to provide better medical services for patients. Therefore,it is particularly necessary to translate advanced research achievements in the field of international mental health. This translation material is selected from Evidence-Based Treatment for Anxiety Disorders and Depression:A Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Compendium, its main content is the cutting-edge achievements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy(CBT)in treating mental illness, which is in line with the development of the times.Chapter 7 and Chapter 8 are mainly about how to use CBT to treat Social Anxiety Disorder(SAD),Somatic Symptom Disorder(SSD)and Illness Anxiety Disorder(IAD).This report is based on the theory of Toury’s translation norms to explore its application in the area of medical translation.A series of examples are used to illustrate the universal use of translation norms and its suitability for medical translation. The translation norms include preliminary norm, initial norm and operational norm. This report explores the application of preliminary norm from the perspective of material selection, and the guiding role of initial norm and operational norm from the handling of words, sentences, and discourse.Using methods such as lexical concretization and sentence reconstruction to solve the problems of inconsistency between word meaning and context, and contextual incoherence, etc. This translation practice has made the author realize that translation norms run through the whole process. This theory takes into account various factors that affect translation, helps translators better understand the text and choose appropriate translation methods. As the masterpiece of descriptive translation, this theory is far-reaching and has a strong guiding effect on the translation of medical texts.Through the translation practice and writing of this report, the author hopes to provide some relevant methods for the medical translation and make her own contribution to the development of the mental health field in China.
