A Study On The Story Of The First Rat In The Mongolian Zodiac

Folk literature occupies an important position in Mongolian literature and enriches Mongolian traditional culture with its unique cultural connotation.In folk literature,animal stories skillfully link the nature of animals with the social nature of human beings,explain the appearance characteristics and living habits of animals,on the other hand,reflect the profound philosophy of life.Giving people experience and teaching,but also enrich the human spirit world.The story of the rat,the first animal in the Chinese zodiac,spread widely among all ethnic groups.This paper takes the story of the first rat in the Chinese zodiac spread in the Mongolian settlement area as the main research object,and the story of the first rat in the Chinese zodiac spread in other ethnic groups as the comparison object.By combining the research methods of the type and motif of storytelling with the research methods of communication,anthropology and folklore,this paper analyzes the communication characteristics,types and motif of the story.And further explore its cultural connotation.This paper is composed of introduction,text,conclusion,appendix and references.The introduction part mainly expounds the reason of the topic,research overview,research purpose,research significance and research methods.The first part,mainly discusses the transmission mode and general situation of the story of the first rat of the Chinese zodiac,and collects and sorts out the different texts of the story in Mongolia,Russia and other ethnic areas of China,so as to clarify the thoughts and lay the foundation for the subsequent research.In the second part,based on the type and motif analysis of the story about the rat,the first of the twelve zodiac animals of the Mongolian people,and the spread of other ethnic groups,the unique characteristics of the story are summarized as the stability of the protagonist,the clarity of the ending,and the focus of differences.The third part,first of all,discusses the interesting meaning of the story of the rat,the first of the twelve zodiac animals of the Mongolian ethnic group,from three aspects,such as the struggle for status,wisdom and reputation.Secondly,it discusses the sun as the symbol of time,the camel as the symbol of the 12 zodiac animals,and the animal election assembly as the symbol of fate.Finally,it analyzes the animal habits presented in the stories of the camel rolling in the ashes,the cat catching mice,and the rat stealing food at night.In the conclusion part,it summarizes the dissemination situation,type,motif,cultural connotation and academic value of the story of the first rat of the twelve zodiac animals of the Mongolian ethnic group,and expounds the author’s point of view.
