In recent years, aggression has always been a focus of attention in the academic community, and social support is the spiritual and material support provided by the social environment to individuals, which can significantly affect aggression.Previous studies have shown that social support is conducive to the improvement of self-efficacy of emotion regulation, while self-efficacy of emotion regulation may affect the aggressiveness of individuals through their self-control ability. Therefore, this study intends to explore the impact of social support on aggression, and examine its internal mechanism of action with self-efficacy of emotion regulation and self-control as mediating variables. This study is mainly divided into two parts: Study 1 conducted a questionnaire survey on 1834 college students, mainly examining the internal impact mechanism of social support on aggression; In study 2,based on study 1,32 subjects with high aggressiveness and low self-efficacy of emotion regulation were screened out,and group counseling was carried out to investigate the intervention effect of group counseling activities focusing on self-efficacy of emotion regulation on college students’ aggressiveness. The specific process was as follows: the screened students were randomly divided into two groups,16 in each group. The experimental group received seven group assisted interventions, and the control group did not implement any intervention, collect data from both groups before and after the experiment, and compare and analyze them. The research results are as follows:(1)The level of social support among college students is significantly higher for males than females in terms of gender; The self-efficacy of emotion regulation was significantly higher in humanities and social sciences than in science, engineering, medicine and agriculture; The level of self-control of only children is significantly lower than that of non only children, and boys are significantly lower than girls; The level of aggression is significantly higher in boys than in girls.(2)College students’ social support,self-efficacy of emotion regulation and selfcontrol are significantly positively correlated, and are significantly negatively correlated with aggression.(3)The chain mediation model between social support and aggression is established for the two variables of emotion regulation self-efficacy and self-control.(4)After the implementation of group assisted intervention, the aggression of the experimental group subjects was significantly reduced, and the self-efficacy of emotion regulation and self-control were significantly improved. The above results show that college students’ self-efficacy of emotion regulation and self-control have a chain mediating effect between social support and aggression. The group assisted intervention program designed in this study is feasible and can effectively intervene in aggression.
