Mawei District has a long history and is the birthplace of Chinese shipping culture.Each city will form its own unique temperament in the process of development,and this temperament can be expressed through the city brand image.Taking Mawei District as an example,this article links the city’s brand image with regional culture and conducts an in-depth study.Through design practice,it can activate and drive the sustainable development of the local economy and improve the cultural self-confidence of the city.This paper firstly analyzes and organizes the research status and trends of domestic and foreign urban brand image and Mawei District,and sorts out the visual elements and cultural connotation of urban brand image.The meaning and characteristics of regional culture and city brand image are analyzed,and the relevant content and design ideas of city brand image are clarified.Secondly,it analyzes the image formation and historical background of the city of Mawei District.Starting from the history and culture of Fuzhou,it summarizes the cultural factors of Mawei District,and focuses on in-depth analysis of the shipping culture in Mawei District to gain a more comprehensive understanding.Through the previous historical analysis and current situation investigation,the visual symbols of graphics and colors are extracted..Thirdly,in the refined design symbols,focus on excavating the famous visual element of shipping culture in Mawei District-Luoxing Tower,as the core design element.The tower,also known as the "China Tower",plays the role of a port and shipping logo,and is one of the important carriers of shipping culture.Finally,after clarifying the design goals,design principles and design orientation,the design practice is carried out.The scope of design practice is mainly divided into two parts:the basic element system and the application element system.This article aims to strengthen the inheritance of regional culture by building a brand image with regional cultural characteristics,in order to enhance the historical protection of the shipping culture in Mawei District,let more people understand the long-standing cultural heritage of Mawei District,and attract people from all walks of life in the society.Emphasis and attention on the combination of city brand image and regional culture.
