Tasty Chinese Level 3 and Road to Success: upper elementary(Listening and Speaking)1 are primary spoken textbooks for teaching Chinese as a foreign language published by the JRC Chinese Language Institute in Korea and Beijing Language and Culture University Press respectively.This paper uses comparative research and data analysis to study the topic selection of the two textbooks,find out the problems of the two textbooks in terms of topic content,topic expression form,topic function and topic vocabulary and culture,and draw inspirations for the topic selection of Korean elementary spoken textbooks.The text is divided into five chapters: Chapter 1,Introduction.This chapter defines and classifies topics in detail on the basis of sorting out the studies on the concept and classification of topics in the academic community,and explains the content and methodology of this paper.Chapter 2,statistics,classification and comparison of topic content,topic expression forms and topic functions in Tasty Chinese Level 3 and Road to Success: upper elementary(Listening and Speaking)1,as well as matching analysis with the topic syllabus,are presented to discover the strengths and weaknesses for the two textbooks.Chapter 3,the topic content,topic expression forms and topic functions in Tasty Chinese Level 3 and Road to Success: upper elementary(Listening and Speaking)1are analysed and compared in terms of their organisation,and the problems of the two textbooks are identified.Chapter 4,the vocabulary and culture of the topics selected in Tasty Chinese Level 3 and Road to Success: upper elementary(Listening and Speaking)1are counted and compared and analysed with the relevant syllabus to find out the differences between the two textbooks.Chapter 5,the comparison between reveals that the topics in Tasty Chinese Level 3 are relatively less difficult to select,which is in line with the concept of "easy to learn".The topics in Road to Success: upper elementary(Listening and Speaking)1 are more extensive,which is in line with the concept of "exhaustive coverage".To summarise the problems with the selection of topics in Tasty Chinese Level3 and Road to Success: upper elementary(Listening and Speaking)1,and to draw relevant insights.1.The selection of topics in the textbook should be based on the characteristics and levels of learners,and the content of the topics should be selected and updated in a targeted manner,and the difficulty of the topics should be adjusted appropriately,while reflecting the characteristics of the times.2.Teaching materials should be arranged in a variety of topic expressions and in an appropriate order.3.More functional topics of lower difficulty should be selected and used throughout the textbook.4.The vocabulary of the topics should be progressively more difficult,with more common vocabulary selected and more interconnected.5.Culture in the textbook should be a mix of traditional and modern culture,with additional topics on the differences between Chinese and Western cultures. |
