Chinese language textbooks for oversea learners play a crucial role during Chinese teaching process. The number of short-term spoken Chinese textbooks is more than the ordinary spoken textbooks. This is because that the Korean students pay much more attention to the rapid improvement in a short term of their spoken Chinese. Besides, short-term spoken Chinese textbooks such as Delicious Chinese,123 Chinese etc. are more welcome than the ordinaty ones(China Road, Spoken-Chinese master etc.). And lots of users of short-term spoken Chinese textbooks think that the contents are of high utility, and scientificly selected and arranged. In Korea, approximately 50% of the market share of short-term spoken Chinese textbooks is taken by original textbooks which are introduced from China; While, the rest of short-term spoken Chinese textbooks are research and development of Korea. On the one hand, the original textbooks are considered as professional learning books by many Korea universities, such as Conversational Chinese 301, Short-term Spoken Chinese and Elementary Spoken Chinese. On the other hand, the publishers of local textbooks in Korea(Delicious Chinese, Kiss Chinese,123 Chinese etc.) can be divided into two categories:the publishers belong to private supplementary institution or authoritative publishers of professional research and development of Chinese Textbooks.The write method of ’country specific’ has become more and more popular in the field of research on Chinese textbooks. Furthermore, Sino-foreign cooperation has been considered as the best way to writing textbooks. Therefore, recently, many textbooks which are completed by this method are continually emerged. Although Korean publishers adapted the origin textbooks for a certain amount of ’country specific’, which including:Add Korean translation for grammar and vocabulary; Adjusted on the layout Binding. But there are few adaptions of difficult points for Korean learners. In contrary, the popular Spoken Chinese Textbooks are truly achieved ’country specific’, which are research and publish by the private supplementary institutions. They utilize the principles of China and Korea cooperative development and jointly prepared.However, there are still amount of problems need to be improved for origin textbooks and Korea developed textbooks. Some textbooks users believe that origin textbooks have some problem of excessive learning contents, obsolete words and lack of specificity. While some of other users illustrate that, despite the highly targeted of Korea developed textbooks for Korea learners, the new word selection and choice of example sentences are inaccurate.Accordingly, this article chooses Short-term Spoken Chinese (Korean Notes Version), a series textbooks used by Korea Confucius Institute, to compare with Delicious Chinese (The most popular series textbooks in Korea). This Short-term Spoken Chinese (Korean Notes Version) is a famous series of spoken Chinese textbooks, which is introduced from China, and welcomed by a number of Korean learners. By comparing the vocabulary, grammar, cultural content, structure design and type-setting binding of those two series textbooks, analysis the merits of each. Thereby, provide some worthful suggestions about develop localized Chinese Textbooks for Korea Confucius Institute and reconstruction of country specific for domestic general-purpose teaching materials.This paper is divided into 4 sections.The first section introduced the reason and meaning of select this topic, research subjects, research methods and literature review.for related research. The literature review include 4 aspects which are research on Chinese textbooks compilation, country specific Chinese textbooks compilation, comparative study of Chinese textbooks teaching materials and Chinese teaching materials for Korea.The second and third sections are the main part of comparison and analysis of teaching materials. The second section compares and analyzes the vocabulary, grammar and cultural content between Short-term Spoken Chinese (Korean Notes Version) and Delicious Chinese. In addition, the third section compares and analyzes the overall and unit structure and layout design of those two series textbooks.The fourth section, the last part of this article, is used to propose some suggestions about the development and country specific of short-term spoken Chinese study for beginner, intermediate and advanced respectively, according to two previous sections, which including a comprehensive summarize of the main content, conclusions, innovation and deficiencies for this research.
