Placeness And Mechanism Of Multure In The Middle Canal From The View Of Historical Stratum Accumulation

The local understanding of the middle canal culture is an important link in the construction of the grand canal cultural belt,the choice of the value goal of "applying for the World Heritage List",and the unremitting efforts to construct the cultural symbol.In the context of the successful application and President Xi’s call for the preservation,inheritance and utilization of the canal,in an era when cities and sections of the Grand Canal sought new development,to understand the cultural stratum accumulation and cultural significance of the middle canal itself,to make efforts to promote the status of the middle canal,to lay the foundation for the promotion of the middle canal civilization,and to provide the basis for further development and utilization.This paper makes full use of literature review,field investigation,culturology,GIS spatial expression and other methods,Firstly,the distribution and change process of the Middle Canal are clarified and reproduced;Secondly,it is based on the theory of historical stratum accumulation and canal culture,the content of cultural resources and process of cultural stratum accumulation in the Middle Canal are sorted out from the perspectives of type and time,and the spatial distribution of cultural resources in the Middle Canal is sorted out from the perspectives of category,scale and time.It is found that the contents features of the middle canal are diverse types,long history and remarkable benefit,and the spatial distribution features are linear distribution,spatial transformation,node agglomeration,rapid increase of quantity in Ming and Qing Dynasties,and uniform distribution after the founding of the People’s Republic of China.On the basis of deepening the understanding of both content and space,the three main characteristics of the Middle Canal are found:(1)The first nature is based on the natural characteristics of the north to the south river waterway;(2)The second nature is the accumulation of grain transportation protection and water conservancy construction based on the lifeblood;(3)the third nature is the spiritual pursuit of based on the canal city,the canal scenery and the canal people’s struggle and progress.On this basis,this paper analyzes culture placeness formation mechanism of the middle canal by Using the thought of man-earth relation in ecology,including:(1)The natural background of the canal is depicted through geography,such as the influence of topography on flow velocity,the influence of monsoon climate on navigable time,and the attempt to manage river flood;(2)The value of the canal should be strengthened through the centralized control of the state,local response to national identity and capital driven by profit;(3)Intelligent contribution to safe transportation,improvement of control technology,canal landscape coordination pursuit,etc.,and efficient utilization of the canal through coordinated man-land relationship.
