Mobility And Placeness: The Construction Process And Mechanism Of Xin Du Qiao Hostel Space Under The Leadership Of Tour Operators

Place is one of the basic concepts of cultural geography,and it is also a common research hotspot in geography,anthropology,sociology and tourism.As an extension of place,placeness has increasingly become the focus of interdisciplinary research in various fields.‘Place’ is considered as a unique connection with external flow,which is greatly influenced by homogenization and standardization.Some local characteristics are eliminated and marginalized,cultural memory fades,emotional identity is lost,and the process and mechanism of local construction are seriously challenged.But local forces also show daily resistance to the rapid flow and penetration of global culture.It can be seen that there is a dialectic relationship of commonness and individuality behind mobilit and placeness,accompanied by the conflict and negotiation between homogenization and placeness.The hostel space,as the stopping point of tourism traffic,is not only an immovable material space,but also a carrier of mobility factors,which affects the direction,rhythm and flow of mobility factors and implies the dialectical relationship between flow and parking.Furthermore,the internal group of tourism operators“local-foreign”implies the confrontation and negotiation of “ placeness-mobility ”.Therefore,this paper juxtaposes the perspectives of mobility and placeness to explore the construction process and mechanism of hostel space led by tourism operators.In response to the above questions,an empirical analysis is carried out on the spatial construction and mechanism of Xin Du Qiao hostel from the perspective of tourism operators guided by the dual perspectives of placeness and mobility through continuous case studies from 2020 to 2021,mainly using interview method and grounded theory analysis method.Based on the grounded theory analysis of interview data and text data:The theoretical model of placeness construction is divided into 5core categories of physical,culture,management,social and living environment,and10 sub-categories of external space,internal space,business philosophy,working state,traditional culture,foreign culture,network platform,realistic contact,living state and emotional state.The theoretical model of mobility construction is divided into three core categories of material flow,social relationship flow and emotional flow,and six sub-categories of material intermediary flow,goods flow,internal subject interaction,subject and object interaction,capital exchange,emotional exchange and meaning exchange.Based on this,the paper further analyzes the construction process of placeness and mobility in inn space.Finally,the negotiation mechanism of mobility and locality in hoetel space is discussed.The conclusions are as follows:(1)The placeness construction process of Xin Du Qiao hostel space is mainly constructed from five aspects: physical environment,business environment,cultural environment,social environment and living environment,which reflects the obvious local characteristics.It can be seen that the hostel space provides a social space with both network and reality for tourism operators and other social relations subjects,and also becomes a hybrid space of life,operation and communication.(2)As a carrier of various“flow elements”,Xin Du Qiao hostel space has triggered the construction of material flow,social relationship flow and emotional flow in the inn space.Tour operators as the subjects of hostel space selectively receiving material flow in the inn,all kinds of social relations but also because of tour operators and cultural activities of the various services to produce complex interpersonal communication and interaction,tour operators also happened before,during,and after operation and changeable mood and complicated emotional change,not only for their own management experience,There are also mixed feelings about the local community.(3)The construction of inn space is essentially the result of mutual consultation and accommodation between mobility and locality.Since the relationship between placeness and mobility is complicated,the negotiation mechanism between mobility and placeness in hostel space is discussed.Under the dual negotiation mechanism of mobility and placeness,the physical space of hostel becomes a hybrid space of localization and globalization.The social space of the hostel becomes an open social network space based on the space.The emotional space of hostel becomes the dual identity space of place imagination and place attachment.
