The mural paintings in Cave 25 of Yulin Grottoes are a masterpiece of the grotto mural art of Buddhism in the Tang Dynasty in the period of the Tibetan regime in ancient China and an important part of the entire Dunhuang art.They have both historical value and artistic value.At the same time,they are damaged by environmental factors and human factors.Therefore,the protection of mural paintings is urgent.Modeling the current situation of ancient murals,combining painting techniques and protection concepts,also provides new ideas for painting creation.This paper mainly discusses from four aspects.Part 1 is the study on the general situation,contents of mural paintings,and artistic features of Cave 25 of Yulin Grottoes.Part 2 is the study on the current situation of the mural paintings in Cave 25 of Yulin Grottoes,mainly including the material composition of the base layer,white powder layer,and pigment layer,the causes of the color change of the pigment layer,and analysis of other diseases.The study on the current situation replication of the mural paintings in Cave 25 of Yulin Grottoes lays a theoretical foundation for the current situation replication in the next step.Part 3 is the current situation replication experiment.We constantly try to find the best method for the current situation replication of the mural paintings in Cave 25 of Yulin Grottoes,including the use of materials,painting,and the application of old techniques.In Part 4,through the current situation replication of the mural paintings in Cave 25 of Yulin Grottoes,the painting techniques are summarized.Starting from materials,the painting creation is made combined with personal feelings.All types of information contained in the mural paintings in Cave 25 of Yulin Grottoes are not only actual data for us to study the development history of ancient art but also a further understanding of ancient culture,religion,and science and technology.The study on current situation replication can inspire the creation of modern paintings.In the process of current situation replication,through repeated experiments,we can have a better understanding of the properties of local materials and improve proficiency in the use of techniques.These cognition and experience accumulations lay a foundation for subsequent personal creation and contribute to the inheritance and promotion of Dunhuang mural painting art. |
