English is a widely used language and an important communication tool for international exchanges and cooperation.Oral English teaching is of great significance.Through oral English learning,students can improve their ability to do things in English,gradually form the awareness and ability of cross-cultural communication and exchange,establish an international vision,and become innovative talents to adapt to the future social development.Through oral English teaching,teachers can find out the problems in the process of students’ oral English learning,find out the reasons and use effective teaching strategies to improve students’ oral English level.However,the phenomenon of "dumb English" still exists in the current English teaching,and the quality of oral English teaching needs to be improved.Through questionnaire,interview,text analysis and classroom observation,this thesis investigates the current situation of correction of oral English teaching in senior primary schools,analyzes the collected data with SPSS software,and obtains the status quo of teachers’ and students’ attitudes towards oral English teaching,the setting of oral English teaching objectives,the arrangement of oral English teaching time and the environment of oral English teaching,the use of oral English teaching methods,the selection of oral English teaching content and the evaluation of oral English teaching.It also explores whether there are differences in oral learning initiative among students with different genders and learning levels and whether there are differences in oral expression disorder among students with different learning levels.Through the investigation of the current situation,this thesis finds out six problems in oral English teaching: the teacher’s initiative in oral English teaching is not strong,the goal of oral English teaching is not clear enough,the time and environment of oral English teaching is relatively short,the method of oral English teaching is relatively simple,the content of oral English teaching is not rich enough and the evaluation of oral English teaching is not scientific enough,analyzes the causes deeply and puts forward corresponding countermeasures combined with the requirements of "new curriculum standard" on oral English teaching.The countermeasures to strengthen the faculty: to cultivate teachers’ reflective consciousness;to establish a faculty research community;to innovate the training mechanism for teachers;to improve teachers’ attention to oral English teaching.The countermeasures to improve oral English classroom teaching effect: to clear the objective of oral English teaching;to enrich the content of oral English teaching;to use oral English teaching methods flexibly;to carry out a variety of oral English teaching activities;to conduct scientific oral English teaching evaluation.The countermeasures to develop and utilize oral English teaching resources: to develop and utilize school resources actively;to focus on the development and utilization of human resources.
