Campus music activities focus on practice,can enrich students’ learning experience and interest,and are a useful supplement to music classroom teaching.As an indispensable part of school education,campus music activities have some irreplaceable functions in the cultivation of students? What is the significance of campus activities in the development of students? On this issue,this paper takes Quanzhou No.5 Middle School as an example,observes the shaping of students’ roles by campus music activities in Quanzhou No.5 Middle School from the perspective of role theory,and explores the significance of campus music activities in student development.Through on-the-spot investigations,questionnaires,interviews,and review of school history materials,it is found that campus music activities have shaped two types of roles,namely,collective roles and diverse roles.Campus music activities are not only a means of imparting classroom teaching knowledge.It also plays an important role in the cultivation of students’ subjective consciousness and the shaping of social roles.In the first chapter of this paper,the concept of role theory and its application in campus music activities are briefly summarized,and questionnaires and interview outlines suitable for the investigation of campus activities in Quanzhou No.5 Middle School are designed.In Chapter 2,by analyzing the roles of Quanzhou No.5 Middle School’s celebration,school anthem,and campus club activities,it was found that in the past,the role shaping in campus activities mainly revolved around collective roles.The first school anthem of Quanzhou No.5 Middle School promoted the formation of young people’s awareness of their own role as "people from No.5 Middle School" in Jinzhong,while the school anthem during the Anti Japanese War shaped the role of "Chinese people" who shoulder the responsibility of the country and the nation.In the vigorous development process of excellent clubs in Quanzhou No.5 Middle School,the author selected several representative clubs for research,and conducted in-depth analysis of the role value of characteristic roles such as "troupe members","Tuo Yi Ren","media people",and "Guole Ren" in students’ personal growth and social responsibility.In Chapter 3,a survey and analysis were conducted on the clubs established by the school and the participation of students in campus music activities.Combined with the author’s on-site investigation and research,the study found that schools now pay more attention to the diverse role shaping of students’ creative and practical activities.This study reveals the important role of campus music activities in school education,that is,it is of great significance to the cultivation of students’ subjective consciousness and the shaping of social roles,and is conducive to the cultivation of various talents that meet the needs of social development.This paper uses the perspective of role theory to study the function and significance of campus music activities,and conducts a more comprehensive and in-depth analysis through the review of school history materials,which is innovative.However,the shortcoming of this article is that the research sample is relatively limited,and only one school,Quanzhou No.5 Middle School,was selected for research,so it is difficult to fully represent the situation of campus music activities in all schools.
