| This article studies the dissemination of "post-impressionism" in newspapers and periodicals during the period of the Republic of China."Post-impressionism" is an art genre born in France in the 1880 s.A group of painters represented by Cezanne,Van Gogh,and Gauguin have set off a wave in the European art world.During the Republic of China,people translated Post-Impressionism into "Post-Impressionism".Firstly,this article uses the keyword research method,using "post-impressionism" and "post-impressionism" as the keywords,to search and analyze in the national newspaper index and Hantang modern newspaper database,to clarify the meaning of the concept of "post-impressionism" disseminated during the Republic of China.Secondly,it examines the different Chinese translations of the "post-impressionist" painters Cezanne,Van Gogh,and Gauguin,explores the three stages of communication and discussion among the three painters during the Republic of China,and studies how to disseminate the works of the three painters in newspapers and periodicals.Finally,by analyzing the comments on "post impressionism" and representative painters during the Republic of China period,it is found that in the process of transformation of Chinese modern art concepts,the dissemination of "post-impressionism" artistic concepts led to the earliest creation of a number of modern art common sense,that is,art needs "personality",what art "expresses",and the relationship between art and "reality". |
