The Song Dynasty was the peak of the development of landscape painting, and its economic and cultural prosperity contributed to the richness and diversity of landscape subjects.Among them, landscape paintings with idyllic themes also flourished.Through the language of ink and brush, painters expressed the beautiful scenery and customs of rural areas in the Song Dynasty, all of which were true depictions of the daily lives of the people in the fields. This paper mainly divides them into three categories: agricultural theme, fishing and woodcutting theme, and pastoral theme, and analyzes their inherent aesthetic and cultural connotations in the context of Song Dynasty thought and culture. The figures are an important element carrying ideas and are the bridge between the viewer and the painter. The proportions and layout of the figures influence the layout of the landscape painting, the language of brush and ink is closely related to the overall style of the landscape, and the interaction between the figures makes the picture full of storytelling, which plays an important role in the viewer’s interpretation of the connotation of the picture.Through the study of pointing figures in landscape painting with idyllic themes,we further explore the feasibility analysis of pre-determined pointing figures in landscapes with different moods, and gain a deeper understanding of the identity and role of pointing figures, which finally has important reference significance for me to use pointing figures in my creation.
